I’m really hoping Sanheim is with Ellis and Provorov is with Ristolainen. My belief is Sanheim needs to elevate his game and I think Ellis can help him. Ristolainen is a guy that myself and others believed and voiced a few times this season would be perfect for Provorov as a partner.

not sure I want Risto getting Provy minutes

So we have:

Provy Ellis
Sanheim Ristolainen
Yandle Braun
7th Morin
At least to start.

Looks great so far and exactly how I’d pair them/ deploy them in order of minutes. I guess you could move Yandle up depending on matchups but shelter risto at first until he regains confidence.

What do the pp pairs look like I wonder?

They say Yandle is tight with Hayes and Atkinson

i see your logic, but i think maxing out Provorov and having a period plus worth of top end blue line play might be worth keeping Ellis and him together.
- Wingdestroyer

I thought about those pairings as well but I think Provy and Ellis will be at the top of TOI so it makes more sense to partner them. I could see either pairing though.

Interested to see what they work up for the PP. There are 4 D that can play the PP now so maybe they take advantage of it. Ristolainen has been deployed net-front too and wasn't bad.

No, no just curious. I am sure there were short spells here and there, but I just cannot remember 2 Dmen being part of the same pp unit, or at least, not pp1 in the past.

I am tired. Maybe I am just forgetting stuff.

I wonder if Chuck can work some more bargains and convince Getzlaf to come here as our insurance policy 3C or 4C. Guy has already made a ton of money, too.

They really need to skate more on the pp. Endless back and forth passing while barely moving will not open up a seam.

A genuine RH scoring threat should prevent the defenders from cheating more and more to the Giroux side of the ice. It should stretch out the ice available to them.

They don’t know what the hell to do with Sam. They just moved him to wing last year. He’s a nasty dude. Probably could keep him around for that sole purpose since we were so soft to play against last year.
- section32

If yandle is signed yeah 7 th d. Fill depending on who’s injured or back to backs. They said there was a lot due to the condensed schedule. Similar to this past year.

Yandle has had a great career. At 35 how much does he have left? We went through a similar situation with Vincent Lecavalier not that long ago. Given the low cost for only 1 year I can live with it.

Not a whole lot probably. When a guy with his pedigree is healthy scratched for much of a playoff series, even with their leading Dman out, that probably says something. I hope York just outcompetes him and grabs the job.

His 2nd round reach Pascal Laberge didn’t even get a qualifying offer today. What a waste.
- hereticpride

Laberge certainly didn't work out but saying he was a reach as a 2nd round pick is not accurate.
Mackenzie had him ranked 32nd.

Work out for street in that role. And can’t do worse than ghost. Even if he does Morin or maybe a call up will help. Also didn’t get the Gus special so there’s that too.

Yeah. It’s a minimal gamble. Maybe he’s cooked I didn’t watch a lot of Florida games last year.

I'd say this puts the Flyers with one of the deepest defenses in the league.
