I just googled, and it seems you are right.

For some reason, I thought the Habs were numero uno, historically and now. I always thought it was because of their storied past.

It’s the French vs. the English. I can’t stand either. Although my dad is French but is and always will be a Leaf fan.

Twitter rumor:

The #Flyers are reportedly interested in Arizona goalie Darcy Kuemper ($4.5M cap hit through 2022). Kuemper (31) played 27 games in 2021 (.907 SV%, 2.56 GAA).

If true, we should have made the Ghost trade larger and included Laughton

As Hextall once said, "no player's progression was ever curtailed by playing more games in the minors". I think for York and Zamula, this will be good for them to continue to develop and get used to the pro game, and I am sure there will injuries and thus opportunities for them to be called up as the season goes on.

More veteran leadership on the cheap. I'm fine so long as Morin gets his shot.

They would fill totally different needs.

Can never have too many D-men. Right now they have six NHL level d-men. They have two young d-men (Morin, York) that will get significant time in the NHL next year. I am fine with this situation. Good mix of talent as well.

Ok I just spent 15 mins searching through Hockey Reference for this "shots through %" Bill refers to. I could not find it. Googling yielded no help (the first hit is Bill's blog).

Is it the pay part of the site?

Well I know MJL is a Hextall fan, so I thought if I quoted something from him it would make my take a little more credible

Your culture wars and social frictions fascinate me. Probably because it is new to me.

The elitism of the Vancouver burbs, the hickism of Alberta, the Frenchiness of Quebec, the "we are the center of Canada" of the Torontians.

Random musing: I once dated a woman who is now a fire chief in one of the most conservative and rural parts of your country.

But anyway, gotta get back to work. Yes, I do work, landros 2.

All good. Haha. I don’t take this too seriously especially in a hockey blog. TBH I never am fully for one party or another blindly. Trudeau has made some good decisions or at least followd advise from his staff. Generally the country has managed the pandemic well. There are however many gaffes that people have ignored and I have issues with some policies.

I think for stuff like that and stats like WAR you have to go to the pay section of Evolving hockey.

He will correct you. He'll say he isn't a fan, but thinks Hextall had the right plan. just needed a few more years to execute

So out of curiosity where does Ov stand historically among greatest players ever? Top 20?
Top 10?
Top 5?
Top 3?
When all is said and done where does he go down?

I say top 5 for sure.

What’s the board think ?

His 2nd round reach Pascal Laberge didn’t even get a qualifying offer today. What a waste.

If we traded players for more 2nd round picks, eventually we should hit on one. That sounds like a good plan lol

Vancouver buying out Holtby increases the odds that #Flyers will sign him as their backup G. He is close friends with Carter Hart.

Top 10 or 15. Could’ve cracked top 5 if he played team defense in the first half of his career.

Never ending discussion, his durability and production has been incredible. The shot is one of a kind, I’d say top 10. Top 5 is crazy, just top of my head going old school Gretzky Mario Orr , is he in the two after that, idk. Crosby has to be over him too.

I’m with ya….never tied to either party. Although I do lean one way. For the most part, I like the way they have handled the pandemic to this point, after the early hiccup with vaccine orders. It’s such an unprecedented event it’s hard to cast blame when there is inevitable mistakes.

Man, all these vets and some guys with former success coming to Philly. Is it just me or am I getting 2011 Eagles Dream Team vibes 🤣?
