not at all, just tired of dealing with people who can't have a discussion and difference of opinions without making it personal. |

Yeah, and you’re just a ray of (frank)ing sunshine.
Sure, what do you want to know? He’s better than Zack (frank)ing Smith. Always has been, always will be. - Ogilthorpe2

He has a 10 team No-Trade and Chicago just happened to not be on it - TheGame316
So he can come here (obviously he CAN retire) and the Toronto radio says he will retire.
who got the best player in both Hawk trades? |

Stans thinking take a run at it why not with Toews and Kane still here . Lets go HAWKS !! - oldduffman
Puts Fleury in a poopty position, because he's forced to decide on retirement or not. I'll hold off until we know for sure. |

Wow!!! Career yr at 36 yrs old behind a strong Vegas squad. ....... No doubt about it the Hawks are a better club with Fluery and Jones. - Mr Ricochet
Fluery may want to discuss spending his last year in Chicago with Cam Ward. |

Well, I was still in the process of taking in the trades and draft from a few days ago. Maybe Stan flips him back to Pittsburgh after retaining salary like a few mentioned. Or trade at the TDL? I would think Stan would get assets back for taking on all of the salary… whether it’s from Vegas or Pittsburgh (speculating a trade). If they keep, then the FO must feel like they can somehow get close to playoff contention (which I’m not sure if I agree). - DrewDawg
I heard Pittsburgh made inquiries earlier...

Not mad, more like befuddled.

I am pretty sure, no info to confirm it that Rocky ended the rebuild after one year. Last year was a "save cash year" and saying "we're getting younger" was just his way of explaining they weren't spending money last year. He's hardly connected to the "average Joe" to understand his words had longer term meaning.
PS. Not to be underestimated was Seabrook and Shaw going down giving them more cap resources. I can't say if Stan had a chance to take bad contracts or not? Only he knows what each body is really worth I assume said targets of this board would be gone if they could be gone. |

Not sure why this popped in my mind, but could this be Stan trying to save his job?
"I tried to get an All Star Goalie" did not know he would retire (despite reports MAF did not want to play outside of Vegas and may retire if traded) - ikeane

I think this is Lehner redux, but the move happens before the season not at the trade deadline.

Yes its go big or he is gone plus there has to be more going on behind the scenes than we know right now. I still thinks he is headed to Pittsburgh if not then the trade is very confusing by hawks not getting anything in return for taking the whole contract. |

Those 2 guys are baby pictures of Ron Hextall and Brian Burke discussing what minor league stiff they are going to give Stanbo in return for Fleury and keeping half of his salary.
Or it might be Malkin! |

Honestly I’m not sure if the league would deem it legal or not but the hawks should’ve asked for a pick in the event fleury retires because this trade is the only way he wouldn’t retire and get vegas off the hook on his salary |

Maybe this is how Bowman gets a first round pick back he lost in the Jones deal? |

I'm thinking Seabrook or Shaw's contract will get traded this summer, the way things are going and if MAF really is a Hawk. |

No PR from the Hawks yet on the Fleury trade but he is listed on the website in the roster section but that could be coding across all NHL websites pulling from a database of transactions.
My initial thoughts on this trade so far align with what others have been saying that Fleury could be on his way to the Penguins so Chicago is just a pass through which would net assets in return to the Hawks.
Ideally, they get a 1st rounder or top prospect.
Things just aren't adding up right now but may as the day(s) pass by. |

As Flower ponders his future, Stan is now handcuffed for other moves in free agency. If MAF retires before training camp, it may be dumpster diving.
You would think that Z, Strome, deHaan have to be aggressively shopped?
If Flower stays, the Hawks have a great tandem in net
In my opinion, I am struggling to see how other GMs are getting 2nd round picks with bad contracts, and Stan gets 7mil worth of maybe |

I can't believe this trade was made without Stan doing his due diligence on whether
1) MAF would want to play here
2) He had a trade worked out already with a team that MAF will play for.

So I have an on-line meeting for an hour. That ends, I warm up my lunch, log in and...
...the Hawks "traded" for MAF for basically nothing? Is this to complete the trade for future considerations from a few years ago? Will MAF even report or retire? Is this Vegas just saying here, we don't want him anymore?
What in the hell is going on over at the new Stadium? |
