Sad. Fleury had no idea. He found out just now via twitter! Bush league Vegas - Assman22
That's Vegas for you. They don't seem to hesitate to throw guys away who signed there when they find a shiny new toy. Players going to start demanding NMC's to play there

Fleury has NMC, maybe he didn’t know it is done-done right now, but he must have been part of the process either way. Non-issue.

Dude, you are clueless. Players Yotes are taking on are liabilities and/or borderline NHL players, that's why they get paid. Fleury was one the best goalies in the NHL last year. He'll split the net the Lankanen this season, allowing both to play around 40 games a year and be rested for playoffs.
The only reason he is available is due to his cap. If everything plays out, he could sign a cheap extension for 1-2 seasons to back up Lankanen. Once again, phenomenal trade. - CSKA1981
Gave up nothing and I guess that Columbus just may not be involved in a top 15 hawk 2022 pick....
By then you have to find a replacement if they feel Lanky has not grown A LOT. |

One thing to watch here: there were rumblings Marc-Andre Fleury might choose to retire if traded from Vegas — for family reasons. Not certain how it will all play out. - wiz1901
If Vegas had any class, they'd have traded him to a team who would buy him out. Throw in a 2nd for the other team to pay the $$ and eat the cap hit
Let him decide where to play by making him a FA a year early

I’d rather have him over Conolly, Nylander, Hardman, Hino, Carpenter, or Gaudette - Ogilthorpe2
You really set the bar high. |

He has a 10 team No-Trade and Chicago just happened to not be on it

If true. I have no issue with one year of Fleury. A goalie upgrade over last year for sure.

Correct, in that case that might be an issue in Vegas front office.

Well, I was still in the process of taking in the trades and draft from a few days ago. Maybe Stan flips him back to Pittsburgh after retaining salary like a few mentioned. Or trade at the TDL? I would think Stan would get assets back for taking on all of the salary… whether it’s from Vegas or Pittsburgh (speculating a trade). If they keep, then the FO must feel like they can somehow get close to playoff contention (which I’m not sure if I agree). |

Intriuing he might retire and rumors of him finding out about the trade via Twitter.
Hawks not on the 10 list of teams per his NTC.
Could the Hawks be holding salary and then trading him along with someone say a Z, Suter or other to another party? The plot thickens!!!

So, with Flower taking his time on making a retirement call doesn’t this effect is a bit for Wednesday and the first wave of FA? We finally had (potentially have) money to spend but need to wait to see if we can use it. |

Your feelings about Zad are getting old can we go back to Anisimov? - rpeters01
Yeah, and you’re just a ray of (frank)ing sunshine.
Sure, what do you want to know? He’s better than Zack (frank)ing Smith. Always has been, always will be. |

Yep
I think he wants back to Pittsburgh and they have a need at goalie. I could see him orchestrating his list to make it either stay in Vegas or Pens
Should have held out for a 15 team list I guess

Ek says the move is to clear space for Eichel. We'll see how that pans out.
In any event, it'll give VGK space to make a splash tomorrow. |

Scratching my head on this one. Stan takes on the full 7M salary and obtained no sweeteners.
Leaves them with less than 2M in cap space with Z, Hagel and Nylander yet to be signed. I know the LTIR $$$ have to be factored in.
Other moves coming? |

Not really right to call someone out on not liking a player when you let everyone know you disliked Adb for seasons. |

I think we still have some cap space: assuming we off season LTIR seabs, nylander and hagel come in at $1 and $1.5. and then we open the day roster at 20 and then put Shaw on LTIR. I think we have about $8 mil left.
$45K forwards
$25.65 D and G (no ZAD)
plus about $2.2mil of shaw.
I come up with about $8MIL. plus if you add someone that means 1 more guy ends up in the AHL.

More deals gotta be coming. No way we would trade for a guy with that cap hit and receive nothing else if he doesn't even wanna come here and might retire instead. |

Wow!!! Career yr at 36 yrs old behind a strong Vegas squad. ....... No doubt about it the Hawks are a better club with Fluery and Jones.
