Lehner would be a better option.
If the Hawks are looking to add a free agent netminder they should go with Ullmark. His numbers were solid considering the team he played on. - DarthKane
I thought Ullmark wanted a lot. Not that Fleury is cheap, but negotiating & trading helps that. Stan could reclaim a pick, potentially. |

Your bottom 6 need to be able to play some defense, this line would be a disaster defensively. - LAHawk
And they can't all skate. Gaudette and Connolly are slow |

So you want Suter b/c he helps the Hawks win? But you also want a rebuild? If Suter wants 3 mil or more for multiple years why would the Hawks sign him? - bhawks2241
They tendered a less valuable player in Zadorov for more money, so there’s that. I’m not saying Suter is the be all end all, and he may very well have priced himself off of the team, but he’s more valuable than the pylon known as Zadorov.
Edit to add: At the very least he should’ve been traded for a pick. Stan is squandering assets left and right. |

Murray Bannerman was a great Blackhawks goaltender? WTF. And of course he omits Crawford. - LAHawk
No one seems to want to acknowledge Crawford was good, I have no idea why? |

If heard right he looking 4 to 5 million per year and 3 to 5 years in term. Not horrible but rather explore the fleury option and try recoup some assets. |

Hahah well Suter is definitely more physical than Nylander. Ya.... I got nothing on Zadorov. I chalk it up to Stan not wanting to feel like he got nothing for Saad.

Still so odd Kampf was protected and not qualified lol. Easily replaced imo as the majority this roster belongs in the bottom 6. Suter should’ve been qualified tho and glad to see Gaudette back for a show me season. Lots of free agents available and trades to be made (MAF or Holtby) for example. Will be interesting to see the opening night roster and excited to finally see Entwhistle get his shot to play in the bigs! 4th Line should be nasty this season! Go Hawks! |

how much is kampf goign to get in ARB worse case scenario 1.5? he had 1 goal and 12 pts in 56 games? Same with Suter. 2.5? I understand teams are concerned about comps from 2-3 years ago and not the flat cap. Suter is a 3rd line player and kampf is 4th - kmw4631
Also why Kampf is replaceable yesterday. Good defense and wins faceoffs. Entwhistle makes half that. Still can’t believe Stan got him essentially for Hino whom he is also replacing. |

I heard that Pit was also in on Fleury, I wonder if Chicago can hold some salary and trade him back to Pit for Samuel Poulin (He could be another "Son of an ex-Hawk" project). |

I don't get it.
Alex DeBrincat spent one year in Erie after being drafted then went straight to the NHL.
Jokiharju spent one year in Portland then went straight to the NHL.
Adam Boqvist spent one year in London, then 15 games in the NHL then was called up.
Quinn Hughes played a year in the NCAA's then had a 5 game audition before becoming a starter.
What determines whether or not a player is ready to be in the NHL? What evidence is there that having these guys play a full year in the AHL would make them notably better than what they've ultimately been? There are numerous examples on both sides with great successes and great failures.
How long did McNeil have in the AHL? Beach? Skille? If a player shows that they have the ability to play in the NHL, play them there. The AHL hits just as hard (if not harder since guys are trying to prove they belong in the NHL).
Patrick Kane was never a big guy and he went directly to the NHL. Why? He showed that he had the ability to play there. - Chunk
Mike Bossy, Bobby Hull, Eddie O, it's a long list.

Suter wil be a free agent Wednesday at noon. Would be surprised if his agent hasn't gotten his asking price out already. - boilermaker100
If we're worried about Suter we have bigger problems. You'd think he was Stan Mikita or Dylan Sikura. |
