That train has long since sailed. Be stupid to get him now after missing all his affordable years. Don’t double down on the mistakes.

I never do these because I hate speculating but here goes...

Dcat-Dach-Kane
Kubs-Toews-Reichel
Nylander-Johnson-Hagel
Kurashev-Kampf-Gaudette/Borgstrom

Jones-Kalynuk
Murphy-Mitchell
Stillman-Joes
Beaudin

I mean...eh

think we will see a veteran d man to skate in the d pairings. I just hope it's NOT DeHann or Frankenstein,

STill some moves to be made....which makes me laugh given the response in the last 5 days to the previous 3 trades.....

Trades may not happen right away as teams may circle back to guys like Connolly, Carpenter, DeHaan, Zadorov, Strome.....if Hawks sign a veteran UFA D man....we know he has a deal(s) in place.

SHould be fun watching this board melt down.......

OH THE DRAFT PICKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is kind of fun to play with the possibilities.

I am thinking Stan earned his potato chips followed by a nap. But I expect multiple other moves in the next few days (after all he has not given up every 1st and 2nd round pick for the next 5 years yet).

I think a third line with Johnson and Hagel had a lot of potential. I also really like Toews (hopefully close to 100%) with Kubalik.
Maybe:
ADB-Dach-Kane
Nylander-Toews-Kubalik
Hagel-Johnson-Gaudette

I really lost respect for Lazerus after reading this:

Why would Reichel be brought up this season when we saw the Joker and Boqvist fail after they were brought up too soon? Is this guy watching anything?

Still lacking overall team speed and physicality these things are important things the playoffs. So there more moves coming hopefully addresses those that the hawks are lacking.

Depends on if you want to build for the future or be mediocre in the present.

Also…again helping out a cap strapped team. Why not more than a 2nd as a sweetener?

Using only signed players or those with qualifying offers.

Debrincat Dach Kane
Kubalik Toews Reichel
Borgstrum Johnson Gaudette
Connolly Kurashev Hagel
Nylander/Strome

Not horrible

Fun to mix and match lines.

More changes coming. Fasten your seatbelts. It’s going to be a wild ride.

oh i melted down because when the window is open, Im all FOR exerting everything to win that year.....marko dano, danault, did not care. I can admit it's a bit hypocritical but those same folks who called me out and others for "not enjoying the golden years" which I did, I was just greedy and wanted as many as possible.....now are the ones who are roasting Bowman to death.

Again, I don't even think it's Bowman which is a sick twist to this.

I think they can make the playoffs....and contrary to being "just a guy" Fleury by himself can steal games and series....not saying they are a cup contender but they are a lot better today than they were a week ago,

Even trading those sure fire lottery picks so many thought they had, and landing all these can't miss hits.....same guys who wanted to launch DeBrincat last year, and launch Dach today......but maybe I'm off my "meds" today.......

What is 1.8 million in cap space worth? I think a 2nd is beyond fair because that's all Tampa got here.....

So, let me understand.

1. Stan has CC coming off an expiring contract. He could have signed CC for 2-3 years at around $3M per. If resigned by the Hawks, CC is unlikely to retire and ends his career in Chicago, as a mentor for the 3 young goalies.

2. Stan doesn't sign CC because he wants to give his 3 young goaltenders a chance to prove themselves. Stan says something along the lines of 'we really like them'.

3. Today he pivots again, and trades for MAF, takes CAP pressure off LV, and gets nothing else (picks or prospects) in return.

Does this make sense?

- scottak

You think Bowman knew Crawford didn't have much left, he was getting near the point of running on fumes. Crawfias not leading them to a good season. Bowman this asset. Young goaltenders. They might not be all that great. But the team was not going.to be too good. Why invest in a goaltender if you can play the kids for a year. And maybe Stan figured he would make an offer for a draft pick so as to draft Aaskarov

Bowman didn't get Akarov but he did draft Comesso.

I don't evaluate Fluery and Johnson until I see them .both on an NHL roster, be that Chicago or elsewhere.

Laakinen worked out OK. Subban so so.

And we waste cap space on another player that muddies the water between rebuild and mediocrity.

Hawks don't seem to be done. I called it earlier about Seabrook's contact being traded once Fleury was brought over. Moving Seabrook for an asset that can actually play and saving a bit of cap space is a win, especially when you bring in a guy that can play up and down the lineup, provide offense and win faceoff. Getting a pick in the deal is a nice add.
