22 on the roster. Shaw will go on LTIR and add 3.9M. They aren't signing Vinnie or Kampf is my guess. Nylander will be the same a Gaudette. Hagel is the question if terms of AAV. I think he going to give Z away.
- Elbows15

Saw they were still engaged with Kampf, but fact he wasn't signed today...tells me he thinks he can get more...a.nd likely will.

Is Johnson a given for line3 or does he skate with Toews and Kubalik?

Agreed on Nylander....

Hagel....has no leverage so that may be a slow burn....I see zero reason to over pay this kid after 1 year....do it again. LIke him and his game....but he's unproven

Agreed on Z, same goes for STrome...and COnnolly and Carpenter....trade DeHaan and replace him with more durable, cheaper vet who can slot up and play 2nd pairing minutes.....

And they should all go.

I wouldn't hold my breath on those being gone. I fear what Bowman will add to accomplish getting rid of them

If Connelly was a good 3rd liner, why move him?
- Elbows15

Think Johnson is an upgrade offensive ability-wise with an additional cup under his belt (but 2 more years and 1.5 more in cap).

We do gain 1.8 million in actual cap space here though over 3 years as Seabrook was merely cap relief due to LTIR.

Ha. Wouldn't that be a hoot. After the happenings of today, who knows.

I guess getting rid of Seabrook's contract is why the deal happened but in a perfect world I would've spent that money on Danault.

I suspect you’re right. Any GM worth his salt knows that the time to rebuild excludes trading away draft picks and young players for older players especially ones whose skill level is so questionable. Conversely this is all on Bowman and when he gets canned as all GMs do, how this all sorts itself out will determine if he ever gets another GM job again. I take that back, if Pierre Maguire can get an executive job in the NHL I’m sure Bowman can too.
- paulr

bowman will get another job.......isn't he GM of Team USA?

sure teams will look at his body work and realize what this last week really is, after proclaiming you were rebuilding......a panic move by an owner. That's how it reads to me....so while media, people here can light stan on fire, if you want to be angry.....yell at the Wirtz's........

a distant second is one last hurrah for kane/toews who may have likely voiced concerns about playing on crap teams and ask to be dealt.......and how would the fan base react losing all 3 HOF players in 12 months?

Educated fans would get it....but less of those, and the mob buys the merch, puts butts in seats, tunes in to games, keeps them relevant......

I would not be surprised if Stan wants Z to replace deHaan that's how he will pay for him if he can find a taker?

Stan taking advantage of other team’s salary cap troubles somehow feels worse than other teams taking advantage of Stan’s salary cap trouble.

I like Indian food, but there’s not a lot of good Indian close to me. I make some pretty mean samosas. Thai by far is my favorite Asian food. I’ve been working on perfecting green curry for while. It’s getting close, but still not quite as good as my favorite restaurant’s version.
- Ogilthorpe2

Love Samosas. Yeah Thai food is really good and how they are able to get the different levels of flavour in a single dish is amazing, the flavours are subtle yet strong at the same time. I’ve never attempted to make any Thai dish. Another region in India I really enjoy is Pakistani food. They make bread, not naan, from traditional wheat flour and walnut flour. Chapli Kebabs, chicken or lamb biriyani, pulao, kofti really good stuff but I’ve never tried making it. There’s an Afghanistan restaurant near me that makes really good dishes.

In one day, the Hawks ensured the 2022 Stanley Cup is going to be Vegas vs. TB.

TB is looking pretty good only losing Savard, Gourde, Johnson and Goodrow.

Vegas has 7M more to spend on Danault now.

Could have been a less public version of what Doughy stated in LA.

I don't agree with what bowman exchanged for these players, but I think we can all admit that he's brought in players that are for the most part better than what we have/had on hand (Jones is better than all of our D-men, Fleury is easily the best goalie, and Johnson is better than Strome/Suter).

The Johnson move makes me concerned that they don't expect that Toews will be back this year. I'll be interested to see what finally shakes out of the FA's
