yup and that's my problem with this lineup. it lacks physical pushback. i love the optimism in here (just like every offseason here) but i see it as a bubble/1 round team and that's if they remain relatively injury free.

Really don't like the poolman signing. Like the player as a 3rd pairing defenseman, but 2.5 is way too rich, and 4 years is 2 years too long.

Schenn at 2 years 800k is fantastic.
Halak at 1 year 1.5aav is fantastic
Hamonic at 2 years at 3 million is a bit too rich for me, but I see why they do it.
Sutter at 1.125 is really good value for the Canucks

Sure man, we are clearly going all in. Playing Bowey was not an option. Bennings biggest signing was 4 years * 2.5. That’s a huge win. Nothing overly damaging is all one can hope for this time of year

We don't have to agree donny. I just don't like the deal, the rest of his signings I'm fine with.

2.5 aav for 4 years for a 3rd pairing dman with 1 assist last year to me is too rich. Hes also not an unreal shutdown defenseman either. I get that's he's big and a Right shot defenseman, so an overpayment was expected, but I just don't think it was a good call. We will see what happens I guess.

The 3 defensemen were all on my list of players I was hoping to get. Never did I think Benning would actually get 3 of them, though.
Can't believe they got Poolman, he is an excellent #5 guy that can munch minutes, when required.
Benning has had an excellent offseason, IMO.
This is coming from a guy who some label as a member of team whiner. I am pretty excited for the 1st time in years, about my Canucks.

And yes, I am pretty hungover.

We shall see...not sure about him yet either, don't know enough. Likely tradable given RHD reality though.

They have signed a tonne of fringe NHL d-men today. Going the quantity route and hoping Shaw and strong forward group can improve team defence

Interesting to hear about Poolman...don't know enough so hopefully it plays out that way. Pieces are in place...and most of the pieces are at least tradable now...unlike the last few years.
