2 - 3 million dollar players on your 4th line is not spending your money wisely.
- hello it's me 2050

should they juggle the players around so our 4th line has a lower cap hit? Maybe Tanner? Frost?

Member when some fans thought Flyers had small advantage for getting Seth Jones because his dad coached with the 76ers? He left the 76ers today for the Nuggets lol

Yeah 2 or 3 at between 3 and 4 is my guess. I think Fletch values him and expect him to seize the starter role. I can't see them saying 1 yr at the min qualifying amount.

I remember reading that he had a really tough time not being able to see anyone when he wasn't playing or practicing. In the bubble in Toronto, the team were allowed to hang out together but when the Flyers were home this last year, they hung out with their families while he sat alone in the hotel. Sounds silly, but that could be hard on a kid especially when he and the team started struggling. Expect him to rebound as we return to normalcy

Haha I'm surprised he's still working.. his son can pay all the bills now with that contract.

It would have been even funnier if he left the 76ers for the Bulls

Good for Big Sam! I'm hoping he continues to develop as our 6/7 guy. Like his game.

Good for Sam...he's been through a lot and was a good team player for even playing wing last year. I'd really like to finally see what we have in him for an extended period.

Great news. No more of this LW experimentation BS. Work towards being a consistent physical Dman and stay healthy.

With all the activity the last few days, I feel like there hasn't been much talk of the Flyers Draft. I was looking back at some final mock drafts including SportsNet and they had Samu Toumaala going at 22nd. NBC Sports Philly had this to say about him:

Analysis: A Finnish winger with big-time speed who was considered a first-round talent by many draft experts and outlets. Tuomaala models his game after David Pastrnak because of his affinity to putting the puck in the net.

Quotable: "We kind of thought he would probably go at the end of the first or somewhere in the 20s and he fell. A real talented winger, great speed, real dynamic speed, he loves to shoot the puck and score goals. Talented kid. He's going to take a little time to get stronger and put on a little weight, but a talented kid that has real good offensive upside." - Flahr

Seems like they went with a high-skilled, high ceiling but higher risk prospect, who might be a potential steal in the middle of second round.

As long he’s not counted on as more than a 7 I’m fine with it. Like the kid. He's just always getting hurt.

Joel Farabee most frequent line mates jvr and coots by a landslide , which was the top line. The majority of his time was with them and very top 6 heavy after that but good call

Just more poop that this guy is completely making up.

Better for him to play in the AHL if not in the top 6 imo. Sitting as the #7 not good.

Morin signs for 1 year $750K, but you all knew that already

Good move, I like what he brings to the team. He adds toughness and good slot coverage, and can help on the PK.

Doesn’t even seem like a risk, few things I’ve read about him seem to make him out to be quite a player.

Would like to add some size and sandpaper to our forward group. A free gent like Nick Foligno might be a nice addition. He would also add even more character and leadership to this team. I think we can do a lot better than NAK in the starting lineup.

Here how I’d set lines to both compete and let kids grow. Barring no other moves

Farabee-coots-tk
Jvr-Hayes-Atkinson
G-frost-Allison
Oscar-Laughton-nak

If frost doesn’t produce or can’t handle 3c and needs to be moved to wing laughts can move up to 3c or g moved over to 3c

Jvr can be slid down to 3lw Oscar bumped up in lineup. There’s much flexibility within the bottom 9 for injuries cold streaks etc. they main thing is giving the young guys with higher talent the opportunity to have whole season to grow. Frost tk bee

This being the case, Flyers are STILL would have one of the softest forward corps in the league. Many on these boards seem to forget how much Flyers were pushed around last season and had sand kicked in their faces. They need to add grit...it’s that simple.

Last two top picks are shooters. The same can be said about Atkinson and Allison. I like it!

I'm reading that too. Maybe we ended up with a steal but who knows. I wonder how many scouts got to see him play in person?
