I think the other good news is that (if all goes well) our prospect pipeline should be filled for years to come.

It’s not a coincidence that the counties dealing with rapid increase of delta-variant and low vaccination numbers are the same counties that voted for Trump twice.
Low-income, limited secondary-education, generally low standardized test scores are all hallmarks of these same counties. So, one could easily draw the conclusion that people with limited means and low-intelligence don’t get vaccinated and also support former president Trump.

2 years could be ok. I really think in 2022-23 we can be a fringe playoff team if we hit on a big three draft pick next season
- Fattony1187

Possibly, but that’s probably the best case scenario

I’d be ok taking on a contract that was for 3years if the other team made it worth my while
Bc that extra 1st or young player we’d get could eventually be an important contributor

For me, it would be all about what we’d get back

So Arizona got a B prospect and a 2nd in 2024 for taking Stralman

Wow Paul, great insights! He borders Harrington with my most despised Buffalo Media.

Bc 2022 & 2023 drafts are (supposedly) so loaded,
it might be tough to get teams to give up 1sts in those draft years

That could be why we didn’t get more for Sam

Why?
That does nothing for us
Use that Cap Space to our advantage

Trade for a teams cap dump with a pick added. Holtby or MAF

Plus Stralman is not very good anymore. I would be calling Tampa, Vegas, Vancouver

Johnson isn’t that bad of a player I didn’t think. Just overpaid.

I would definitely do that. I was thinking Johnson and Cal Foote.

And Cernak would come back full circle. He was drafted with 1 of the 2nds we sent to LA in the sh!tty McNabb trade.

He’s a cap dump. Like skinner. Not bad players but overpaid. In a cap league that is negative value. We shouldn’t be the one giving a pick up if we are acquiring Johnson

Buffalo tendered Dahlin, what are the chances he signs a long term deal?

Oh yeah I get that. But he isn’t a completely useless dump like some of the contracts zona has taken.

75%, Sabres sign him for 6yrs and buy 2yrs of ufa and he's still prime to cash in on one more big contract after that.

Rather maximize that cap space and take on a bad contract or 2 for more picks or young players.
- Buff36

I can see that. I'd like to bring some leaders in though. Even if it's just a few months, guys like Dahlin and Mittelstadt and Cozens need to start learning from someone how to be pros before it's too late.

The one thing I trust Adams to know is what kind of guys he can bring in for a year or two for that.
