Yeah, he shouldn’t.
He should stop pumping their tires, and make them a little more afraid to give poor performances. But Dubas ACTUALLY believes this team is good enough to win even with Hyman gone and Campbell as a starter. The problem is Dubas has no idea what he’s doing. - Tanooki

I wasn't thrilled when he was hired. He was badly outcoached by the Habs rookie interim coach and Luke Richardson. Three of his direct responsibilities were poorly handled IMO.
1) Power play How can a team with this much fire power have such a dreadful power play?
2) Line matching. Why did Keefe choose not to get Matthews away from Dauault and Weber when he had home ice advantage in the series?
3) Hitting, cross-checking abuse. The Leafs were on the receiving end of this for most of the series. It is on the coach to read what the officials are calling or not calling and make adjustments. He did not. - winsix
This is well said. It literally took John Cooper two and a half minutes into game 1 of the SCF to get the Kucherov line away from Danault. Keefe couldn't do it in 7 games. |

Leafs missed the playoffs last year, and lost to a team that had no chance of making the post season if it wasn’t a COVID year.
There’s nothing positive to spin here. Nothing. And Dubas has had a terrible offseason and you know this.
The flaky five depend on you to do the heavy lifting for them, at some point Zez you have to accept that this team under Dubas isn’t working out. - Tanooki
This is brutally honest? This isn't at all you embarassing yourself?
The offseason litterally just started and nothing has happened. But burutally honest and some poop. No chance this is bullpoop blind hatred at all none. |

im as pissed as anyone about the stupid (frank)ing leafs.
the rich kids didnt show up when the team needed them.
if the team cant get its poop together this season, its clean up time. no doubt.
Keefe has a record of 62-29-12 with the Leafs, a 108 point pace.
next season they probably end up somewhere between 100-110.
this pred currently has them 107.
has a coach been fired with a record that good before?
anyways, doesnt matter. playoffs or bust

Should the leafs not at least be looking at a possible Rielly trade? Look at what both Jones and Ristolainen got in return and both were on expiring contracts. I'd say the return would be closer to the Jones return than Risto. If Rielly isn't going to resign, we need to move him before the season starts so that the team he goes to has a chance to resign him. |

107 for the leafs is a real tough prediction to make right now. How do they justify that total? Right now, our goalies are Campbell and Hutchinson. As good as Campbell was last year, he has injury problems and maybe he regresses slightly. Our forward group is missing 2 top 6 LW (unless kerfoot plays there, then we need a 3C) and some depth forwards. Our defense lost toughness with Bogosian not coming back.
I need to see the final product before I can say 107 is a good prediction for the leafs. |

Assistant coaches deal with the power play. I don't know how Maholtra still has a job there to be honest.
I agree on number two.
I don't know what adjustments he can make against officials? Like tell his guys to not get in front of the cross-checks? - Aaron_85
How about tell your guys to do the same to their opponents? 🤷 |

He should've done what Cassidy did when they faced the Isles. Call out the missed calls, take a 25k fine but then the officials started making calls against the Islanders. |

the 107 is for what they team currently is.
If they add some other good parts, it should bump up a little. so I get why Dubas is not tearing poop down..they are still a good team
they have a lot of good players...we know this. we are just talking about the reg season. we know the playoffs is a different thing |

Who says he didn't tell them? The players are told to score on the powerplay and yet...they didn't. I really feel the players let everyone down this year more than anything.
If they fired Keefe though. Meh. |

There's no way that with the current leafs roster they are putting up 107pts. Adding good parts is what should bump them to 107. Campbell and Hutchinson is not getting us 107pts regardless of how many good players we have. |

I would absolutely trade Rielly and do it before the season starts. After yet another collapse we need a major move and a message sent to players that the core can be broken up. I also am getting tired of losing players for nothing and we can't afford to resign Rielly, which is becoming clearer by the day. Time to be proactive... |

campbell/Hutch last season were 21-5-3 with .921 and .919
I wouldnt expect the same win % again..but its not like they were crap.
whats different from last season. No Hyman and no Andersen (he sucked)
removing hyman does not affect the team much over 82 games.

Agree, but let's see what they add instead of Hyman, and whether Rielly is moved for a decent haul.

I know Campbell has durability questions and they need a B goalie, but after he won like 15 games in a row last year, what does he have to do to get some irrational exuberance from the Megadowners? Suck your Richards? |

I don't think Stars fans understand how excited they should be hearing the Suter news. He is still a top pairing D and during his prime was one of the best in the league.
Esa Lindell - John Klingberg
Ryan Suter - Miro Heiskanen
This could be the best D in the league.
