A few random thoughts...

1. Every time I hear Power talk, it sounds like he already doesn't want to be in Buffalo. I don't think he will go full Lindros but I think the talk about him going back to school was all in hopes it would lead Buffalo to not take him. He is NHL ready and I think he might be their best defenceman in year one (yes, better than Dahlin).

2. I remember hearing at the beginning of the year that both Jarry and Carter Hart trained together in the offseason... both poop the bed this year. I hope he finds a new offseason coach...

On that same note, I could easily see the Pens stuck going into this season with the same goaltending duo. Might be a good thing. Jarry has very little value right now and it might help to have him play a few games and perform well to build up some kind of value.

3. I love Letang, but the Pens should have traded him this weekend. With what Philly paid for Risto and what Chicago paid for Jones, Letang could have returned a huge haul. Completely unrealistic and retrospective but at those rates, he could have returned a couple first round picks and a prospect. Letang will be better than Jones for the next 4 years and in 4 years that contract is going to be an albatross (if it isnt already).

4. Don't count out Hextall Phil'ing out the roster with an old favorite. Would love to see us pull a Pettersson & Jarry for Keumper & Kessel deal. Only question is what would we need to add to make it happen? I feel like we are going to miss out on the big free agents like Saad. Too much competition from other teams with more cap flexibility.

5. I really want to get Savard. Not because I think he is awesome but I do think he would make a nice pair to Matheson. I would love it if we could get him signed to a Larsson like contract. If not, I'd take Ceci back, even at the $2.5-3M he is going to command.

If you have a chance to add one of the 100 greatest players in NHL history, you have to do it.

I love when people post this stuff because they have zero regard for what it would take to replace Letang. Like you can just go right back out and pick up a #1 Dman at the #1 Dman Store. The idea of trading Letang is pretty dumb. If you can replace Letang in lateral move for a suitable replacement while getting a haul for him? Ok, you explore, but there is no scenario right now where that happens. Probably no scenario ever where that happens.

I don't think you understand the impact Letang has on this team.

If you're in in full rebuild mode then yeah it would have made sense. The Pens will be a playoff team so they will be in the black. They just aren't built for a run today. But I agree you can't replace Letang.

Friedman also reporting that Coleman is looking at $6/5. Wayyy higher than projected by most.

Really? That's about what I expected him to ask for. Maybe gets negotiated down to 5-5.5m.

That's what Friedman has reported, but I can't see anyone paying him $6M.

Lol... calm down my friend... I was simply musing at the fact that inferior players got monster returns.

Guilty until proven innocent. Hope you become a high-ranking federal judge one day there, sport.

Look, I'm not a victim shamer, and I do think that things like this happen somewhat often and gets settled without court or media coverage. That said, if a woman gets into a guy's car and accompanies him to his hotel room...what in the (frank) is she expecting to happen? I'm not saying it's okay if it turns out she's telling the truth, but she's also incredibly naive to expect anything different.

It's not the same thing at all, but it reminds me of the time when old man Jagr slept with an 18 year old supermodel and someone thouhgt that Jagr would pay money to keep it under wraps...because no 43 year old man would want that information floating around. #Legend.

Bruh! Its almost a direct quote of another post from the last blog when everyone was up in arms about about Mailloux. People are butthurt about a picture taker but Virtanen who may or may not have sexually assaulted someone is totally cool to sign on the cheap. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I’m not some butt hurt liberal I personally don’t care what these ppl do in their spare time I only want pittsburgh to win, or at the very least be entertaining. I am a steelers and psu fan after all so what’s a little sexual assault. Maybe Big Ben will toss some young fan the high hard one again.
