I was gone camping at Mont Megantic.

My internet doesn't reaach me in the mountains.

Imagine my surprise when I got the signal back having 101021020 unread messages about people losing their poop.

I was worried at first, mostly because Price is god damn amazing. But I also understood the gamble.... I'm glad we kept him.

I had come to terms with the possibility that they lose him (and benefit from an important cap relief) but at the same time deep down I was convinced Carey and Marc had thought this through. same thing with Danault, I really have the impression he's staying.

I know and he’ll probably end up with Hall as a winger. The thing is do the B’s want to pay him. Bergeron is a year away from being a UFA and Pastrnak 2 years away.

Hold up is Kreicji deciding if he wants to play hockey in NA.

do they still think they are contenders?

it's even funnier if fans do consider them as such... not that it's a turrible roster, but they just can never get it done lol

meh. you are definitively the Optobus driver.

I've just never been that high on Danault.

Good defensive player, solid guy, love him.

Still think he can be replaced more easily than people think.

On a good team, he's your 3rd centre.

Seriously, they're still crying about Game 7. Talk about a delusional fanbase. Evert one associated with the Team should be walking the plank, today it's Dubas's turn, lol.
- Benny Blanco

this is surely Dubas' last season if they don't manage to win a round in the playoffs. (or if they somehow actually miss the playoffs, how hilarious would that be)

it's a regular season roster. always was, always will. until they decide to trade Marner. there's no other way around it.

I'd still rather see him walk than signing him 5.5M for 6 years.

KK, Poehling, Evans and the breakout season of Nick Suzuki will do the trick if we need to.

- Scabeh

It’s worse, I bet Danault wants him to come up to 6.5 and has an offer at around 6.

agreed. it only shows you that Habs are not that good a team.
if you replace Danault by Eichel, no problem.
if you replace him by Poehling.... yeah. big problem.

They'll be battling to get into the playoffs again next year, it won't be easy at all.

So far yeah. He did well enough in that 20ish game span to end the year.... and they can't afford to spend another 4-5M on a goaltender.

I'm betting they add a veteran guy to back him up for little money and hope for the best.

I'm not sold completely but it's a gamble they pretty much have to take.

As a Sabres fan, I'd say Suzuki, Caufield, a prospect and a first or walk away. Too close to home for Jack unless we get a haul.....

What if you replace him with Evans? Maybe growing pains for a few months

I think Poehling will do well.

Evans is also a guy I like to pick up some of the slack, mostly on the PK.

But let's not kid ourselves.

The guy who needs to take that role and be better than Danault ever was:

Kotkaniemi.

We'll see what he looks like at training camp.

He looked pissed when the year ended, I'm sure he knows he just wasn't good enough.

Hopefully that translates into better play.

It is half mental and half skills that’s why I said earlier give him good wingers and it still doesn’t work trade him. It would be his last chance to show his stuff, being pissed and acting on it for the moment is only short lived

I have a feeling Bergevin is going to do something crazy for Eichel, he has played with fire quite a lot lately with the drafts and he knows the division is gonna be a bloodbath this year with Tampa Bay, Florida, Boston, Toronto and even Ottawa in the picture. You just don't go on an amazing run to the finals, only to miss the playoffs next season because you didn't make any moves to improve the roster in the offseason. All I can say is that Eichel is absolutely elite and I would have no problem trading anyone but Suzuki in a package to land him, the guy would be even better outside of Buffalo and he is already a PPG player right now.

I know you did.
but as a group, last season they had

Suzuki
Danault
kk
Evans

next year they could have

Suzuki
Evans
kk
Poehling

forget who is playing with who, that is basically replacing Danault by Poehling.
