Schwartz is rumoured to be going to the Kraken.

the kraken might acquire Jaden but Montreal is keeping the smoked meat.

I know there are many rumors saying otherwise but I really feel Danault is coming back, so they should be fine at the center position. of course I wouldn't be opposed though to the idea of bringing in a more potentially expensive but more offensively gifted centerman, if the deal makes sense for the team.
- Pat1993

I think Danault gonna get his money he seeks. Teams saw him shutdown some of the best talent in the game. The Habs to me are in a position they haven’t been in for while. They have quite the prospect pool and it goes quite deep we will have to see how MB utilizes this and the cap. It’s very promising we’re going to be a contender in my opinion for quite some time.

I’d pass on Eichel! It’s not worth it. Hamilton is another story but I don’t think he’ll come to Mtl. I’d be very surprised. I hope everyone understands that he’s not a physical player. For all the money he’ll get… ???

If I were the Habs I’d try to get David Krejci! He’d be an upgrade on Danault at least offensively, is very good defensively and an above average faceoff man! We’d have a real second line center who produces close to 50 points consistently! 1 to 2 years on the money Danault refused and a bit more. It would give us time to more properly assess KK and Evans. I think KK is a third line center.

For the D after everything is said and done I believe PK will be the last remaining logical RD available that won’t cost an harm and a leg. Savard is a good option but he’s a shutdown guy and he may end up in Winnipeg. We’d need size, speed, a good first pass and a bomb!

My wish is that the Habs get that without having to sacrifice an important piece!

Krecji being a Bruin for such a long time I don’t see him coming to the Habs but if he does I wouldn’t mind

I agree. But I doubt MB does put Suzuki or Caufield in a deal after theses playoff. MTL farm is still pretty good though so would Rangers part Kakko or Anaheim Zegras for real? I doubt that too so everything could happen. But you’re right, MB rarely overpay anyway

agreed, but if we're talking about immediate needs, it would be much less complicated if they could reach an agreement with Danault (I think if we consider the flat cap situation and Philip's offensive numbers it's very unlikely he'll get 6.5M+... anyways this has been discussed here thousands of times already and honestly I can't wait for it to be over ). having to find both a top C and a top D sounds rather difficult, so I kinda hope Bergevin isn't put in that position.

all the media attention in MTL will now be focused on Logan Mailloux, so if anything happens it'll most likely go under the radar.

I really don’t know if JD will end up taking another leave again here is hoping he doesn’t. He will never reach his potential as a point per game player I feel
- habs88888

I'd be elated if Drouin even became a good 2nd line winger getting 20 goals 30 assists. I wish him the best, but he's a complete bust imo. The times he's racking of assists, the team around him is usually playing well and winning the game anyway, and when it's going bad he's bad defensively and soft. And at all times, I've never seen him skate into traffic and especially not into the slot or front of the net. If he proves me wrong I will happily eat all of the crow and poop I've poured on him.

I love JD, He is a turnover machine, however he plays the style of hockey in which I love. That fast paced, talented, flashy in your face imma beat you one one so come get some style. At times as well he makes some brilliant play making. A while ago I said JD also makes our for check better got some flack for it but what I meant was because he plays such a fast game it forces his line mates to fore check very hard. If you watch some of his tape you will see this. I believe in JD I almost feel like he needs to start believing in himself at times.

I know and he’ll probably end up with Hall as a winger. The thing is do the B’s want to pay him. Bergeron is a year away from being a UFA and Pastrnak 2 years away.

I know, I was being sarcastic (sorry for not using italic haha... ). besides, virtually nothing can go under the radar in MTL, there can never be too much controversy to go around in this type of market.

the ideal contract as far as I'm concerned would be 5M per, for 5 or 6 years. I'm under the impression Danault and Bergevin purposely waited before confirming a deal specifically because of the expansion draft.

If he has Gallagher’s drive to go along with his skills I would agree with you but as of now I can’t see it

I’d trade him just for the cap relief. We don’t have elite centers on this team like he had in junior or in Tampa. I didn’t notice he wasn’t there in the palyoffs. I wish him all the best!

we've seen stretches where Drouin was definitely more involved, being both defensively conscious and generally more aggressive on the puck in offensive situations. let's hope he feels better now and managed to get his mojo back, because having him on the team when he's on top of his game is quite a valuable addition.

6M wouldn't be the end of the world, but I guess 5.5 sounds like a nice middle ground number.

See that’s just it though in Montreal that 5.5 and 6 is a huge difference due to the tax’s depending on what other teams are in on him.

bah, in the end he'll be paying a ridiculous amount of taxes, no matter what. I doubt this 500K necessarily brings him to another "bracket". and there are probably many loopholes that players can use to alleviate how much they're paying.

besides, considering how useful this guy is to the team it would be rather silly to let him walk away for 500K imho.

Let me ask you this… would you not trade Drouin for any of our divisional rivals top 2 LW except for Detroit and Buffalo. Bruins (Marchand/Hall), Florida (Verhegee/Huberdeau), Ottawa (Tkachuk, Stulz), TB (Palat, Killhorn) and Toronto (Nylander/Kerfoot). Ok maybe not Kerfoot but this is just in our division!

I hope you are right Pat!

well, I guess the bottom line is Drouin has yet to reach the level of consistency displayed by the guys you're mentioning... I sense a "feel-good comeback story" is about to unravel itself, and that Jo will reach a level of play that should make most of his critics shut the (frank) up. so yeah I also hope I'm right on this

Right, but let’s say he signed with the Panthers just saying, they pay a 0 income tax down there so he himself saves a ton.
