to me, if Habs want to build on that run and try again next year they need to find a top6 C and a top4 RD. basically replacing Danaut and Weber by better players (more offensive players).
they have enough cap space to do so, but finding them is not an easy task.

Also a top 9 LW that can play top 6 if needed

yeah, but wingers it's easier. you can always play RWs on the left side, like Toffoli did last year. Anderson could do it, even Caufield could do it. they have plenty of wingers, especially if they sign Armia and Perry.
but a top6 center? that they are lacking one. unless you believe kk can be the guy.

Imo the dream scenario is resign Danault to 5, sign Hoffman to 5, and sign Hamilton to 9. There's no way in hell we're getting a top 6 center better than Danault unless KK awakens his full potential next year or we trade for Eichel, and I don't think there's anyway we could have both Eichel and Hamilton on the roster cap wise and ice a decent bottom 6 or get a good LW all at the same time. Plus we'd need to give up on KK and Romanov at minimum and deal with the risks of Eichel's spine.

I'm hoping the habs' recent success in the playoffs will help them attract players a bit more than in previous years. perhaps it barely means anything in the end but when you look at that group of guys and what they were able to accomplish you gotta think that other players looking for a change will at least consider them as a serious option...

yeah, and these centers actually have a spine. they already have Drouin, enough with spineless players.

oh, definitely

I'll very rarely say things about a guy like "he's heartless" or "he's a lazy bum", unless it's actually confirmed by coaches or other players (or himself lol). what we see as fans and what goes through a player's mind during a game are 2 very different things.

I wonder if him and Crosby will both finish their career in PIT, you'd think if Malkin really wanted to "be da man" all this time he would've moved already

Sure to any one of them depending on the cost. I don't see how Larkin or Monohan are possibly available. Those are precisely who you build around.
