Yikes! With the ask and the health uncertainty i don’t think I want to see that gamble...what if he has the surgery and ends up with permanent damage? The Habs will have sold the farm and find themselves with hardly anything left...
- Karine Hains

Well I am sure that if the Habs were to take a chance they would do full research prior

I don’t know.
And what if he feels finally comfortable and makes his talent talk? 6’2, 210lbs Center, shoot right. That’s perfect.

He was getting better and better till the neck injury. That guy would finally be our #1 C with Suzuki 2nd.

I bet KK+prospects+picks would make it work. I don’t think MB will touch to any of Suzuki/Caufield and probably Romanov.

No offense taken, i feel like they are trying to make amends no matter how awkwardly tbh. The Habs will more than likely eventually try to do the same as well so that people forget this pick especially if it doesn’t pan out...kinda feels like drafting 4 lhjmq players was a way to shut people up as well in a way but maybe im just too cynical lol

Unless the team is unstoppable and winning the cup year after year, there will always be a media fire in Montreal. Go back to earlier this year, and almost everybody, myself included thought Bergevin and Timmins should have been catapulted the hell out of Montreal for the poopty jobs they've been doing. I just hope the picks he made were who he thought were the best players available. Honestly the media fire that is Montreal is more than likely why Bergevin is having reservations about continuing. The pressure of being scrutinized every day and having half of the fan base poopting on you must be exhausting, no matter how thick skinned you are.

This kid was getting drafted, Montreal just did it before another club, and understandably so....he is exactly what the Habs need.

The entire Sweden thing is over, is it not? He was caught, sentenced to a fine, paid it.....fini. Note it was a fine...... Far too many are acting like the kid murdered a bunch of people, he didn't. While what he did was wrong, it isn't end of the world wrong....

All those Centers being drafted......MB not liking what he has coming up?

I must be out of touch with the majority. The kid has paid his fine and has been under intense ridicule for his actions. If the Habs had not drafted Logan, another team would have. Maybe my mistakes as a youth were more agregious than most on here, leading to my willingness to forgive this young man for his lack of maturity at seventeen years old. He's a Hab now. Hopefully he has learned his lesson and with the teams support, this will be a small blip in his career. Welcome aboard young man

I don't think anyone is saying he doesn't have the skill to be drafted, nor do "we" think he should be punished forever.
However, when the player in question himself requests to not be drafted because of the mistake he made, and wants to atone for his actions, that should have been respected by the team, ESPECIALLY in a media crazy market like Montreal. Now it's an unnecessary distraction for both the player, the team, and the woman he disrespected may have difficulty moving on from the incident.

oh it's just to have the brothers reunited. Hawks drafted another Dach this weekend, they also have the Jones'. the Fleury' will play together in SEA, the Hughes' in NJ... seems to be a trend.

There’s no distraction. If and when he competes for a job in Montréal it’ll be 2-3 years from now. And the reporters who are threatening to throw themselves off of Place Ville Marie today will be 2-3 years minus a few days from this embarrassing meltdown they’re experiencing today.

With all due respect, I think you’re letting them off the hook by calling it awkward. Those women deserved to be up there for some good works that they did. Chicago was using these women to appear virtuous. It’s disturbing to me to see these women used that way. But that’s just me.
