No one is forgetting about the farm team, it just can't produce players at a rate like some other organizations do, because the team has very few prospects that aren't in the college system or play in European leagues.

AHL but Euros & NCAA is another factor easily overlooked. Not looking at the standings but which prospects playing key roles.

Again AHL had a very irregular year last year but the year before Comets were a top team.

Think the Kings will much better this year. Will come down to the wire I think.

Kings flying under the radar but still need a goalie. Could make some noise still.

None really just seems like they do with picking more CHLers than we do. Problem is we have less call up options.

Are we talking the AHL team or the whole developing system?

I don't buy Ruby's argument at all about not developing fast enough . Pettersson spent two years in Europe Boeser and Gaudette spent two years in college Hughes one.
Demko 3 years in BC 3 years in Utica. Rathbone two years in Harvard , Hoglander 2 years in the SHL. Podk 2 years in KHL .

It goes on and on if you look at Gadj Diepietro Lockwood

It is a load of crap that we are not producing fast enough.

For the record Comets were a top 10 team the year before last. You can't use last year seeing the only played two teams in a watered down league.

Reuby is an old old man. He remembers the days when a drafted player would go back to the CHL for two seasons, then maybe a third as a 20 year old, or to the AHL if they were ready. Then spend two or more seasons in the AHL before getting a chance in the NHL.

I think he’s also saying that because the Canucks have been so starved for youth, excitement, marketing pizaz etc that they have rushed almost every young player into the NHL. Jake, Jared, Troy, Adam, Elias, Quinn, Nils and now Vasili.

We’re some of them ready for the NHL? Probably (certainly), but not all of them.

I don’t necessarily agree with Reuby, but he would tell you he knows better.

This might be a tough season for the Abby Canucks. Not a ton of high end young talent. Sure, they can sign guys, but they still have to work with the veteran rules.

Sharks and oilers seem to have a better scouting presence in the German leagues. I wonder how many other countries are mostly untapped or under scouted?

Damn Jim traded the Captain Loui

Yeah this could be a tough year. AHL is like that up and down . I like Johnson and he seems to be finding some off the board players.

Not sure how long the window is to sign players that went undrafted but hopefully the Canucks find another player or 2 that way.
Maybe a player like Ruben Rafkin, RHD
Billy Constantine RHD
