You’re paying a trash defenseman that will impact the ice negatively on a nightly Effie six mil a year in the hopes that maybe he’ll injure someone. Money well spent. Good job, good effort. - Victoro311

DeAngelo bought out. Be curious to see what happens to him.

People are giving Hex crap for not having a great off-season, but relative to what's been going on, I think the GM's who don't jump into this mayhem are being smart.

As RW mentioned this seems like the ideal time to try and shop a Dman. There should be several teams needing a #4 as well after the expansion draft.

He really hasn't done a lot yet to judge good or bad. I didn't like the McCann move and so far he hasn't cleared up enough cap room to make changes, but there is still time.

But agree at least he hasn't added a bad contract yet.

- Tojo.

Yeah, no bad contracts yet, no relinquishing of quality futures in a crap trade, etc...

Serevalli reported teams are balking at Pettersson's cap hit, so not sure how that pans out for Hextall. He may have to retain a little to get him off the books.

Seems like Burke and Hex are fans of MM. I think he's a Penguin for the foreseeable future.

In a flat cap world, they should. He's not a bad player, but there are definitely flaws in his game. I thought he played pretty well down the stretch last year after he came back from injury however.

There's a point where it won't be worth it for the Pens IMO unless the return is useful.

I thought he played decently once he settled in with ceci. He has some offensive upside. He would be my preferred red as well.

If the Pens can move him for a 3rd and retain $500K to $750K I think it would still be a smart move. Freeing up $3M+ is win.

I'm a fan of Pettersson, so if the flat cap wasn't an issue I'd be happy for the Pens to hold on to him.

Obviously petts isn’t on the level of cale or Seth Jones, but seeing those contracts handed out has to help give pens a little leverage id guess

Here is Pronman on the kid we picked. He had him ranked 87:

Tristan Broz, LW, Fargo-USHL
Oct. 10, 2002 | six-feet | 178 pounds

Skating: Below-average
Puck Skills: Average
Hockey Sense: Average
Compete: Average
Shot: Above-average

Broz has been a productive USHL player the last two seasons and was an important player for a top USHL team this season in Fargo. His puck game is excellent, showing the ability to create often with his puck skills and playmaking inside the offensive zone. Broz can make a lot of plays to teammates through seams and under pressure. If given time, he also has a great shot and can pick corners from mid-range. He works hard enough, but I wouldn’t call him a “hard to play against” type, and his game could use more pace/quickness. In a sentence, Broz has a chance to make it to the NHL due to his skill and scoring but will need to add speed/physicality to his game to stick.

Sounds like most places are positive on our pick. Don't mind adding a center at all.
