Check the leagues he's been playing in and his size.

He has a long way to go.

- kingcong39

He broke Carey Price's save percentage record at the WJC and that was playing with a broken rib.

I didnt like the pick. I still feel he will be closer to girgensons than the exceptions most posters are giving him. Not a single Calder vote, that is pretty telling.
- Mentalorgasm5

I think he'll end up closer to Mark Scheifele

Cale Makar's six-year extension with #avs carries a $9M AAV.

What’s dahlin asking for? He is younger and less productive

Not hating on him. His game opened up post Ralph

Have you not watched him and scouting reports?
- sabresfan69
According to many outlets, Levi could either be a late sixth or seventh-round pick or not be drafted at all. After his standout performances this season with the Canadians and Team Canada East, I don’t see that happening. He may not have the same potential as taller goaltenders like Jan Bednar and Drew Commesso, but he could still become something special in the NHL. I honestly see him going in the fifth or sixth-round, especially if all the other goaltenders are off the board.

He's actually a very good player just lost his confidence knowing that he was the favorite to be the first overall pick for 2 years and unlucky things started happening Snowball effect

If Sam does head to Fla and Jack, as rumored, end up in Mtl then both will stay in the division with the likes of Tampa Toronto and Boston still ruling the roost. They're also still in a very tough Eastern conference. Right now odds are one of them won't make the playoffs meaning a possible additional lottery pick for the Sabres

I’m sure the young core they have in place will be good with waiting another 5 years so players drafted in 2023 can contribute. What the mother (frank)

You said he could be a top 5 goalie in the league.

That's big time hyperbole.

Cozens looked good. He did look out of place at times but he also looked like he is going to be a star. Typical of a first year prospect.

Ok, whats the problem? Didn't he break Carey Price's record playing with a broken rib or not?

He was also the top goalie at the worlds.

If you're going to die on a hill, might as well do it with ridiculousness, amirite?

No Calder votes equals the next Mike Grier.

I'll stand by it. A few years down the road we'll see if he's more like Girgensons (your take) or Scheifele (mine)

Anything can happen as every player develops differently, but equating Cozens to Girgensons is not accurate as Girgensons never produced points at any lower level like Cozens did in his draft year and D+1 season.

Cozens played in 41 games last year, not 28, and was benched to give him breathers.

And I am certainly not going to pretend like Cozens was the only NHL player, to play through injuries, because, well, every NHLer does that.

No.

He misread Harrington's tweet. Levi was a 7th round pick
