If Sam does head to Fla and Jack, as rumored, end up in Mtl then both will stay in the division with the likes of Tampa Toronto and Boston still ruling the roost. They're also still in a very tough Eastern conference. Right now odds are one of them won't make the playoffs meaning a possible additional lottery pick for the Sabres

For me this started with Tim Murray trading away 1st for Lehner could have had Konecny or Boeser, trading a 1st away in the Kane trade, Fasching for 2 2nds, Karabacek, Cornel, Lemieux even Johnson over Kaliyev

Drafting has been a disaster the last 10 years.

- sabresfan69

Why? The wings traded up and used assets to draft a mid 1st round goalie.

Tim traded for a Vezina finalist who happened to be an alcoholic at the time with buffalo

Please select Raty

Power
Rosen
Raty

Thats a home run. Won't be upset with Pinelli either. He was top 20.

More I read about Raty, the more I don’t want him. Perimeter skilled player that doesn’t go to dirty areas

I am not deluded enough to think this poop sandwich is going to taste any different than the first time they made it for us.

Im done with losing. We ruined a core that was suppose to be playoff caliber 3 years ago. But it was always talk of if we are not gonna be good might as well tank for a better draft pick. Same ol song and dance. Not sure how people are ok with going down literally the same path of the last 8 years.

Get this team a decent goalie. A few decent vets in VA to help the kids out. Max 2-3 year deals. Kids showed there ready to play last year. Give em a little help and I see them thriving.

Nothing we can do about the owners.

It is what it is. Keep your money and don't support the team or hope Adams and company get it right this time.

This is the best time of the year to be a Sabres fan, once hockey starts it's a different story.

He was a Vezina finalist before or after Buffalo? If it was after Buffalo then he didn't trade for a Vezina finalist.

The team didn't need a goalie at the time. The team wasn't good.

They needed to build the prospect pool

a First for lehner wasnt an issue, he has been one of the better goalies in the league since the sabres traded for him.

That Fasching trade was extremely stupid, giving up 2nds and McNabb for a player selected in the 4th, and another from the 3rd.

Most people loved that Lemiuex pick, he was suppose to be a first rounder. I want Kaliyev, and hated Johnson, but I could say that about every Botts first round picks, obviously not dahlin, but all others.

Yeah good comp. he very well could be the most skilled player in the draft.. but unwillingness to do certain things cap how good he could be. That changes though, look out because he is a top 10 talent.

He's actually a very good player just lost his confidence knowing that he was the favorite to be the first overall pick for 2 years and unlucky things started happening Snowball effect

Devon Levi looks like he could be a top 5 goalie in the league.

He isn't something to dismiss for Reinhart in a package.

I didnt like the pick. I still feel he will be closer to girgensons than the exceptions most posters are giving him. Not a single Calder vote, that is pretty telling.

That means absolutely nothing. Nada.

Girgensons made the all star game. None of that mattered either.

Yeah, there's 30 teams last year that all hoped to win it all but fell short. While I want to watch entertaining hockey in Buffalo, at the end of the day we won just as much as 29 other teams not located in Tampa.
