Buffalo GM Kevyn Adams raised eyebrows Saturday night when he said he “would have no problem at all if Jack Eichel is on our team when we start training camp.”

Out of curiosity, I reached out to Jack Eichel’s reps about that possibility.

“Our expectation is that Jack is going to be traded in the near future, and all of our discussions have been centred around that issue,” came a dual response from Peter Fish and Peter Donatelli.

My guesses right now are some combination of Anaheim, Calgary, Minnesota and others I’m probably missing. Teammate Eric Engels reported Sunday he doesn’t think it will be Montreal. From what I’ve heard, the Canadiens have engaged, but not anywhere near a point Buffalo would say yes. The Rangers and Sabres have not been close in their conversations.

Kotkaniemi was big reach at 3, and I am not sure you could find a hab fan that wouldnt prefer holding onto suzuki over Kotkaniemi.

See below. It would mean the Sabres could in theory win the draft lottery 3 years in a row (21, 22, 23).

Two more rule changes that will be in place for the 2022 draft lottery are: 1) A team cannot jump more than 10 spots in the lottery. So the top bottom 11 teams have a shot at first and the bottom 12 have shot at second. 2) Teams cannot win the lottery more than twice in a 5 year span.

Yep that’s it. It just didn’t sound right that you could only win it once in five years.

Going into 2015, before we got eichel, people were saying the same thing with a different list of prospects, and adding mcdavid/eichel.

This team needs to stop trying to lose. It kills the players in the system.

The point was not draft picks... It is the Sabres desire to self destruct every time they get a player who is half way decent on this team... They simply just throw them to the trash

He fell because he struggles playing against men. Raty looks great when he's got a lot of space playing against other juniors. But his game completely changes when other players get physical with him. Just floats around the perimeter and is scared to go into high danger areas.
