It's time to start anew and not hang on to leaders of a bottom-feeder team. It really can't get much worse and can get better.
- GilPerreault11

Agreed.

They need to build a culture and it sounds like they have a plan to do just that (the sound bite from Josh Bloom today, plus what Adams has said about wanting players who want to be here).

People can support it or not. Me? I have no choice but to support it, as I will not ever root for another team. Doesn't mean I will like everything they do.

You know what? No one is forcing me to drink the Sabres kool-aid infused with cyanide that is this board.. I'm a fan of this team because I grew up a fan of this team and I'll root for them if I choose to. Not you or anyone else can tell me otherwise. But as an organization and that's ownership to the gm, they have ruined my love of the game too! Just like good to great players of the team the last 10 years... I got ran out of here when I was pissed about the ROR deal and history is repeating itself again. I'll let reality do the talking. Talk crap about me all you want. I'm done.

I don't see anyone drinking sabres kool-aid but I do see someone with a jaded view about something he can't change so he is attacking his fellow fans.

I hope Power is on the ice opening day. Also looking forward to Mitts and Asplund they looked like they were starting to put it together.

I put money on players coming out and saying how happy they are Eichel is gone(In a roundabout way)

Hopefully this is the Bills cleaning house a la Watkins and Darius (Sam and Jack). Talented players who had issued and never lived up to their hype.

We get a top guy next year (like Allen) and we are off and running.

I hope 🤞🏻🤞🏻

I wonder who the new guy to crap on will be? Eakin doesn't have the status. Okposo? But he is a 4th line hard working guy. Girgs? This might tell you how bad they will be when they have no one worth crapping on on a regular basis. I mean it should be Skinner if he doesn't lift himself but he is loved too much for some mysterious reason in this town.

I like this post! After hearing Reinharts comments im completely done with this team, biggest joke. Gave Skinner this huge deal and brushed Reinhart to the side. They're treating their players almost slightly worse then their fans. How those Fan Appreciation nights going! Drinking the Kool-aid was an insanely accurate description of most the fan base. Just keep looking towards the future for it to just keep repeating itself. Ohh but the Pegulas saved the city...pllease. Their business adventures are failing left and right.

I get the critique of Eichel. He deserves it the way he handled the end of season interview. But he is a FRANCHISE CENTER! Not many teams have it. With star status comes a little baggage. Most star players have some sort of something for people to nit pick about. For me it was trade one of the 2 between Eichel and Reinhart. Actually glad it’s just Reinhart as of now. Hope it stays that way. Reinhart has very little speed and quite frankly had a piss poor attitude from the start. The NHL is turning into a speed and grit kind of game and he fits NEITHER mold. So to get a 1st in a supposed DEEP draft next year and a goalie (regardless of draft status) that seems to be developing quite well for someone who may find himself in a similar spot as our own Okposso is a good haul. Probably would’ve been more had he signed an extension but didn’t (hence the hold up on the confirmation). Start building around Eichel Cozens and Mittlestadt down the middle and this could get real interesting quick. We have Eichel for 5 more years regardless of his attitude but you know he’s going to play his arse off if he wants another payday 5 yrs from now. From looks of things, yea we’re very young, but we have 3 goalie prospects that are developing quite well, a defense core that looks very strong for years to come with Dahlin and Power, and 3 centermen who have talent that some teams don’t have now or down the road in another year or 2. So in hindsight, we just need to find wingers to compliment these centers!

Finally we have shed light on Terry's 3D chess move.

Eichel pretends to be unhappy and goes on a year round yacht trip while the rest of the roster fights for Wright.

Draft Wright, Eichel sobers up...profit.

Adams was asked how active they'll be in FA.

Basically said that they'll look for "fits", but that it was important that they don't "box out their young players from crucial situations" in the games.

Cozens, Mitts, Ruotsalainen, Quinn(?), Tage, Asplund, etc, lace em up, boys. You're getting huge minutes next year.

It certainly has been an interesting couple days, with
-getting far more for Risto than anyone realistically thought
-getting far less for Rhino than anyone anticipated
-receiving virtually all futures, sans Hagg on the 3rd pair
-not moving Jack, yet?

Now at $43m before FA and RFA signings and includes Jack's $10m...begs further questions and intrigue:
-do they employ an internal budget on the Cap...$70-ish as was rumored last offseason
-who do they sign in FA...who would want to play here of significance
-does Jack get moved...seems to me that if they don't move him by early FA period (starts Wed) then other teams will have moved on to build their team locked in their Cap
-do they lockup Dahlin and Joker long term, or bridge
-what does Ullmark sign for, IF he resigns here

If they could be this interesting with their on-ice play, lol.

I am pretty excited about the Russians the team drafted. I was at the draft party last night, when we announced Rosen everyone was looking at one another like, "huh?", but watching his highlights, I like the potential there.

I think the Sabres drafted well and I was glad that we finally had more than 5 draft picks. GMKA has more work to do, but I am excited at the very least to see Dahlin, Cozens, Mitts, progress. Maybe Quinn impresses and earns a spot too.

I hope they maximize a little of that Cap space and take on a contract or 2 and get some picks or some more young players, bring me Cal Foote from TB for say taking Johnson contract.
