I read your post and really enjoy your banter and sense of humor around here. Nothing personal, but #1 is an opinion. It wasnt factual in any way shape or form.

Using 1 other example in rfa buchevich and ufa jones is hardly a full study to point to.

Come on. You said wait until the details were in.
Which lead me to believe you were anticipating more.

It didnt happen.

Seriously, which return is better.
#13, 2nd next year, nhl player

7th round goalie (who I really like)
Conditional 1st that maybe a 2023 1st?

Seems close to me. Which I've repeatedly said.

You're making the determination that Risto's value and Reinhart's value is simply based upon the total package that each player brings, which is never how the NHL works. Variables like positional availability, skill, contract status, contract demands, likelihood of signing players, NTCs/NMCs, personalities of said player all come to effect. Like I stated in my original post, I flat out said while Risto brought more than Sam (which can't be stated as fact for years until these two first round picks, this goalie and this second show their worth to the org in the years to come), it doesn't mean that Risto is a better player. He is not, and the empirical evidence to prove that is massive. Risto drags literally everyone down that he plays with except for Reider (this year) and Reinhart has the opposite effect.

Seth Jones and Rasmus Ristolainen got great returns and are not very good, with Jones being much better.

Buchnevich and Reinhart have equal contract status and equal positions and equal age, and Reinhart fetched more.

If anyone is being emotional here, it's you. I wish Reinhart fetched more, but using yesterday's trade of Buchnevich completely justifies it, even if unfortunate.

Really good post 🌮

I'm just pulling your leg, for the most part

Maybe sending away the 2 guys that were part of all the losing will be the fresh start this organization needs.

I really do not fault sam, he needed to move on.

Same for risto, and I really appreciated they nice things he said about buffalo and the fans.

He liked it here despite the on ice stuff.

I'm still re upping my season tickets. Hoping for some young exciting hockey. New faces at least

- Boss34

At the very least, the team will have a new attitude moving forward. Interested to see what else happens this week.

Yup, straight up fact. We got way more than we could have hoped for on Risto and Sam got us fair market value return. Good work by our GM.

I dunno. Think I've said what I needed to say. My guess is most agree with the values league wide of the players.

Whatever. I'm in a good mood with the overall decisions this team is making.

🌮

I'm not being overly emotional. 😥

Glad both guy's are gone.

Sam should have brought more within the division.
They both have similar contracts (rfa/ufa)
They both make similar $

Position ( offense vs defense ) is definitely a factor
Although sam's new found handle at center should have helped bring in more capital.

Kevyn's doing a lot of the right things at a time where we desperately need him to do so.

There was pressure to deal Reinhart. That isn't there with Jack. Maybe a different kind. Just like Jon Drouin, Yzerman waited as long as he felt like it until Montreal walked in and donated Sergachev.

If Adams is worth his salt, with Karmanos by his side, he will do the exact same thing.

Well this is news. And I agree with the perceived valuation of Sam. Wish any of us had inside knowledge of the internal NHL market

Correct me if I’m wrong on this, but haven’t players who have come out pubic to shat on their teams and ask for a trade typically gotten a lighter return historically?

Yep but who’d be really nice to have final closure by trading Jack this weekend. 1st 2022, 1st 2023, center prospect, other prospect. We need to get to the salary floor so I don’t mind taking on salary too

Unfortunately, if fans see and hear things, GM's do too. As soon as that end of year press conference happened I said we were F@cked.

Jack lives up to the Mbumhole moniker and my friends and i often joke that the term was coined for him. I dont know him personally other than playing a few Travis Roy charity games over the years. But knowing what i do about Jack the individual...its clear to me he overplayed his hand and has not only screwed our Sabres, but screwed himself. I cant wait to see how this poopshow gets rectified, but i dont see it being good for either side. I'd send him to Arizona for a couple buckets of practice pucks and a skate sharpener.

FYI

I genuinely feel like I'm having a conversation with a smart individual with different opinions 🌮. The back at forth is enjoyable. Fatheads get the troll job.

Some just cry like little babies about every miserable decision. They rarely bring anything to the table.
They just hate one player and love others.

I'm happy to be here and excited for the recent upgrades. Tank4

I usually don't post, but under the circumstances... felt i might be able to add the the Eichel situation and his perceived attitude issues. I have many friends and former BU players from back when i played against them when i was in school...Eichel has and always will be Me first, team second. He is seen as a total douche, even by those aligned with the BU program. I talk with these guys daily about hockey etc.. and lately its been all about Jack. He is disliked by many, seen as a malcontent and arrogant sob. ive kinda been sitting back and watching things unfold for a few months. Many ive talked to who have intimate knowledge of Jack and his injury believe much of it was him just shutting down his season to force the Sabres hand. Basically hearing much of his injury is bullcrap, he just wants out of Buffalo

Blew up in his face. If I were GMKA and the Sabres brass I would tell him he isn't playing for this team, nor getting traded, and he is more than welcome to go play in the KHL.

Fair post.

I really like Adams.

The player should take some blame, when they clearly let every team know they were unhappy during the exit interview.

The player should take some blame when they fake a back injury devide between them and the team.

Risto handled it well. I like it here, I'm up to return or go.
