Ristolainen is closer to captain than being traded.

Or he’s lasting until the deadline

Or he’s signing an extension

Draft so far:

Goalies: 0
RHD: 0
Centers: 0
LHD: 1
LW: 3
RW: 3

Lack of centers is baffling. It’s not like we’re trading away 2 centers at least…….

- turbo044

They will say for an infinite amount of times that they will never draft for position in the NHL.

Id expect poaching a center or two via Eichel anyways

Seriously which guy ( sam or risto) got the better return.

Rfa / ufa very similar in this situation, except sam could still extend in florida. If he enjoys the weather.

Like I said, I'm sorry for you that sam is gone for basically nothing. Just prospects.

- Boss34

You ignored my post completely and think I have an emotion tie to Sam Reinhart. Which is completely false.

I usually don't post, but under the circumstances... felt i might be able to add the the Eichel situation and his perceived attitude issues. I have many friends and former BU players from back when i played against them when i was in school...Eichel has and always will be Me first, team second. He is seen as a total douche, even by those aligned with the BU program. I talk with these guys daily about hockey etc.. and lately its been all about Jack. He is disliked by many, seen as a malcontent and arrogant sob. ive kinda been sitting back and watching things unfold for a few months. Many ive talked to who have intimate knowledge of Jack and his injury believe much of it was him just shutting down his season to force the Sabres hand. Basically hearing much of his injury is bullcrap, he just wants out of Buffalo

We are clearly building a fast, skilled team, which is very exciting.
Many here liked Rhino. Not me.
I’ve been very vocal about all of the aspects I didn’t like about his game, mostly being his lack of Speed and footwork.
He had a positive year on a team that threw out the playbook on a shortened season
And 1/2 of the team didn’t play NHL hockey against us in the second half or when they were up by a few goals.
Sell high. We were not going to sign him for what he would be asking for. We got a first in the most promising draft since 2015 and a legit goalie prospect.
I call this good work

Picking goalies early is an nhl no no for the most part.

Gms are generally fired before the development curve even takes effect.

The nhl is in a swing of sorts this season. Goaltending was a large difference maker in the playoffs.
More so than usual IMO

Similar to the running back / nfl usefulness

Hope our goalie prospect looks great. Hope that 1st is closer to 11 than it is to 30. Sam's gone, I love this draft, I love what this org is trying to do, and I'm totally on board.

They literally need to bring in salary in FA though.

I believe all of this without even knowing you. When he said "I've got to look out for Jack Eichel" at the season ending press conference, it was obvious he is forcing his way out of here. Who talks like that?

Devon Levi will surprise many in my opinion. I live in Boston, he plays for Northeastern which is now one of the better programs in Hockey East. Their season was derailed by COVID last year, which is why Levi really only played for Team Canada. He will be the starter for a quality NCAA program this coming season.
- Cory1

And before Covid derailed the season, he was recovering from the broken rib suffered in the WJC. He sustained the injury in Canada’s first game, kept it to himself and played through it (at a stellar level) the rest of the way. Kid is a fighter.

People saying "but centers" then looking at our high end wing depth before today, see Jack Quinn and that's it, then be sad.

I read your post and really enjoy your banter and sense of humor around here. Nothing personal, but #1 is an opinion. It wasnt factual in any way shape or form.

Using 1 other example in rfa buchevich and ufa jones is hardly a full study to point to.

Come on. You said wait until the details were in.
Which lead me to believe you were anticipating more.

It didnt happen.

Seriously, which return is better.
#13, 2nd next year, nhl player

7th round goalie (who I really like)
Conditional 1st that maybe a 2023 1st?

Seems close to me. Which I've repeatedly said.

Maximize that cap, Adams can set himself up nicely with picks and young players if he plays his cards right. And no one knows how the season will play out, yes Florida should be good but a lot of things can derail that.

Yep. And there's a lot of good teams in the division/conference. There's no guarantee.

Really good post 🌮

I'm just pulling your leg, for the most part

Maybe sending away the 2 guys that were part of all the losing will be the fresh start this organization needs.

I really do not fault sam, he needed to move on.

Same for risto, and I really appreciated they nice things he said about buffalo and the fans.

He liked it here despite the on ice stuff.

I'm still re upping my season tickets. Hoping for some young exciting hockey. New faces at least
