First off I guarantee he worked his ass off to even be considered being drafted so much a 1st round pick. I mean it’s crazy how you can’t see he’s a simple teenage In high school projected to go pro. Had a situation with a girl in school. Let me ask you something would you say the same thing if he was projecting to be a plumber or an electrician or any sort of trade? Would you say hey, when you were 17 you did this thing to that girl You don’t deserve to have the plumbing license.

Im not agreeing with the pick. I think it’s dumb to put himself in that situation with so many good players available. Just take the next guy.

But people are comparing him to the coyotes pick lol

- QuickSCF

He's a Top 10 talent available at 31

The next guy probably ranges on the 28-35 value

Somebody had to bite, and whoever did was getting amazing value

But thanks for playing, I guess.

I would have stayed away. Too much trouble when another young player might just be just as good right next to him.

It's up to the Habs and Mailloux to handle things correctly now.

- Scabeh

The question in have is was this done so satisfy the needs to a francophone sounding name on the Habs' roster. (He's from Ontario, unsure of his first language.)

If so, this becomes even more embarrassing. It's like MB wanted to make up for lost time with bad picks etc...after last years' positive moves.

You must be a relative, FFS, put the pom-poms down. It's ok to see both sides of this. But Logan doesn't quite deserve the pedestal you're placing him on, by his own admission.

I don't think they picked him so he would "fool us all" with a french sounding name.

God damn

Yeah the older gets up randomly at this hour since 4-5 days, i don’t get it. But he gets up later, so... win and lose some

- Not_Yan

Ya, the little buggers you work them into a routine.

Mrs26 used to let those little buggers cry for a few minutes until I left the bedroom, not sure what she did after that..

He will never play in Montreal.

MB thought he was pulling a fast one and people would give him praise for a bold move, but it will turn into a poopshow (if it already hasn't). The kid will never get a fair chance now.

Not drafting the kid might have giving him a shot down the road.

Picking Mailloux was planned before the draft even started. They didnt care who was left on the board.
They want to sign DeAngelo and figured that they would stir the poop tonight to show DeAngelo that they have his back when he signs and that they don’t care what people think

He has all the tools to be an elite defender. The London Knights are welcoming him next season and they are one of the most respected organizations in the CHL. 9 teams took him off their draft board. I would say someone takes him in round 2. Nobody wanted to bite on round 1 with so much attention.

This is why I think Bergevin would have been better off selecting the next guy on his list. Especially a market like Montreal will draw so much attention. If LA takes him at 39, the backlash lasts about 20 minutes.

Pete, I am kinda pissed.

Just looks bad any way you look at it.

Even the kid knew it was better to not want to be drafted, as he would not get a fair shot.

He is smarter than MB, Timmins and the rest of the Habs organization put together.

(and that says more about the Habs than the kid.)

well, he did pay some fines already. Not being draft is not part of his sentence. That's the mob talking.

No that was HIM talking . . . He asked not to be drafted, openly admitted to wanting time to mature and perhaps atone.

17y, 6’4 220lbs. The guy is going to be a monster and was ranked top 25 on a lot of central. I know the young guy made a mistake but he’s a kid, who did not? And who am I to judge him anyway.

From the hockey side, this might be a pretty good pick, specially since we are missing some RD talent.

Hey dude, I don't know if you have been yourself victim of something similar but I think we got your point on that...

Do I agree with that pick? Absolutely not... But it is what it is...

If you want to really have an impact about it, just cheer for another team...
