I'm not a puritan so I must ask, why can't a 17 year old (apparently she was 18 years old at the time but I may be wrong) have sex? Biology suggests human sex and birthing is actually best in the teen years but religion and society have created this BS puritan standard so I need to know why can't a 17 or 18 year old have sex? See that's what you're missing from my argument. I lost my virginity at 15, I've never had a STD or STI, I've never had a child or impregnated a woman, I've never had a situation of sexual violence or any of that. Why would I blame the girls who were awesome enough to let me flop around on them for 34 seconds when I was a dumb kid?

Did he (frank) up and do something monumentally stupid, immature, and just plain wrong? Yup. Don't *anyone* blame the girl for this.... It's like saying a girl deserves to be raped because of how she dressed.

PR firm or not, the kid tried to move on and distance himself from this draft, recognizing he isn't mature enough to move forward. Those wishes *should* have been respected.

Instead the Habs and GMMB bungled this, and badly. For a team that is intensely aware of the media, they sure dropped the ball here.

If they have a history of poor judgement, they might, buy the wrong house, skip steps that open them up to liability. Get caught up in the hype and make poor investment decisions while lacking the necessary experience, choose to skip on the hat, but also skip in the sunscreen

Yes she should have had a working crystal ball. Stop blaming the girl...seriously this is getting to the point where people are looking for any excuse to put the blame on the victim to justify their support for a move that isn't justifiable unless you accept the utter hypocrisy it's tied to.

Do none of you have mothers, wives, girlfriends, sisters, daughters etc.? Short of somebody openly saying they are compartmentalizing it because they want to cheer for their team I truly don't get this reaction

Well you take a risk in each of those things. Invest in stocks the market may crash. Buy a house you can lose your job. Going outside to much sun can lead to skin cancer.
Regardless if you win or lose in whatever circumstance. We must take responsibility for our OWN actions.

I would want my daughter to properly get to know/vet any person that she decided to sleep with and have a good sense of their moral character and ensure that they had respect for her before doing so

If she randomly hooked up with a guy who ended up treating her poorly, I may be angry with the guy, but I would also consider it a lesson learned for her

You're pretty much saying nobody should fool around. I hate to break it to you, but girls and boys hooking up has been happening for eons. Fooling around doesn't mean you consent to everything with your partner. FFS.
