I like how annoying Ristolainen is, but at 5.4m and soon to be a UFA...absolutely no way I would give up a 1st rounder in any draft. Imagine what Ristolainen would want to re-sign....7? 8?

Sounds like Rasmus Ristolainen is going to Philadelphia in a package deal that includes the Sabres getting the 13th pick in the draft.

That's actually a big question mark in my mind, Risto jumps up A LOT, or he did with Buffalo.

I don't think you can overlook the "Buffalo factor." Decent players put up bad stats due to the organization and poor play. It's amazing how much of a "change of scenery" can do for a player. Winning culture (at least every other year:-)) and some solid veterans and bingo...

The 1st rounder is just a stupid move...unless they have a deal in place for a new contract with about the same cap hit (maybe a tiny bit more). Let's hope he can flip him at the TDL for a 2022 1st.
