For Risto -- one year of RR at the moment
What GM offers that trade? - corduroy
Half of that has nothing to do with Ristolainen. Why must we clump the two? |

He gave up 166K a year for a NMC and a modified NTC, and to play where he wanted to -- do you see rr doing that? I can see cf giving that to rr -- but not at a discount - corduroy
Depends if he finds success that will make him want to stay, I wouldn’t say a hometown discount but a fair contract |

He was traded here didnt have a choice slappy. He is an elite level player as well right? Man the narrative you try to spin is sad.
How about he free agents to be that all signed elsewhere. Wonder why they didnt look this direction. Seth Jones no interest in philly. - hello it's me 2050

Is Tarasenko officially off the table now , or is a JVR trade still an option.

Tarasenko is a RW and we seem pretty set there with Atkinson TK and Allison so I’m guessing we’re out.
I would not be opposed to moving JVR for a strong 3C so Frost can come in on the wing. |

It won’t be a popular comment but.
Jake suffered through the quick sand mini rebuild, flyers are finally adding to step up and jake gets to go to the rebuilding Jackets, ouch.
Don’t get me wrong I actually like what the Jackets are doing, they should be better soon |

I would never trade JvR for Tarasenko...unless St. Louis is throwing in next years 1st |

Most would. Lets dig in. Fletcher traded 2 crappy defenseman with no trade value what-so-ever (Fletcher confirmed he forced Buffalo to take Hagg in order for the deal to happen cap wise), 1 2nd tier forward prospect that will take 3-4 years to develop before you even know what you have, 2022 and 2023 second round picks (which he has time to recoup in the future) and a 7th round pick which he had two of already. And in return Fletcher gained cap space and a legitimate top 4 defenseman that add toughness and skill.
Yup, I think Fletcher did an outstanding job! - jd250
It's pretty interesting how you downplay a draft pick when the Flyers give it away and praise a draft pick when the Flyers make one. You claim giving away a first round pick for the Flyers is not a big deal because the player will take 3-4 years to develop before you even know. Then when the Flyers make a pick, what a great pick! Fletcher did it again. When other teams trade first round picks it "their stupid for doing that".

Atkinson vs Voracek:
Cam has 6 20+ goal seasons including a 41 and 35 goal season. 10 seasons played.
Voracek has 6 20 goal seasons with a career high 23...once. 13 seasons played.
Cam just turned 32(June)
Voracek turns 32 in August.
Cam 4 years $5.87 cap hit
Voracek 3 years $8.25 cap hit
Cam had 4 shorthanded goals last season. 16 career.
Voracek had 0 shorthanded goals last season. 0 career.
Cam had 1 power play goal. 9 power play points last season.
Voracek had 0 power play goals. 8 power play points last season.
Flyers get a cheaper cap hit in Cam but the price tag is an extra year on the contract.
Cam can score more goals(3 less seasons) than Voracek and kill penalties. Voracek is too often overvalued by Flyer apologists because he gets....assists.
A team in desperate need of chemistry change continues to do just that this summer.

That does makes sense.
I would still love to have a true sniper on this team that could play with Giroux. How many times have we watched G set up Jake (I guess not just Jake) on the PP and the Flyers dont have a true finisher.

Cam brings a much needed diff skill set and attitude. They will be a better team because of it. This was a good trade.

If fox has another good year this year (I think this last year of elc) I guarantee he get 8+ mil. |

Agreed. We’ve had too many passers and it hasn’t worked. Needed a change - Hextall271
You mean you can't always pass the puck into the net?
Glad we got someone who can shoot the puck. If he plays with more heart than the lackluster Jake (not hard) we're better off. |

True. Allison has a nice shot from the right side. Atkinson will shoot more than Jake I would think so at least that’s something. |

My point is St. Louis wouldn't add the 1st and the chances of the trade happening is slim to none. Plus I don't know if St. Louis will even be a playoff team next year. |
