Fata was a 1st round 6th overall pick. He had a really high ceiling. Rico was highly regarded for his speed and shot. Had the speed but couldn't keep up with himself. Sounds pretty darn close to Tuomaala beside the draft position and physicality.

He's a Flyer now, I support him and I hope he succeeds.

I'm tired of this asset management narrative, I want more wins...point blank THAT'S IT. If they win more games and become competitive they can spend every draft pick until 2080 for all I care.

I get it, some care about winning and others care more about micromanagement of every team decision.

OMG now I'm seeing people complain that because they traded for Atkinson that the team is too small and not physical enough....

Most would. Lets dig in. Fletcher traded 2 crappy defenseman with no trade value what-so-ever (Fletcher confirmed he forced Buffalo to take Hagg in order for the deal to happen cap wise), 1 2nd tier forward prospect that will take 3-4 years to develop before you even know what you have, 2022 and 2023 second round picks (which he has time to recoup in the future) and a 7th round pick which he had two of already. And in return Fletcher gained cap space and a legitimate top 4 defenseman that add toughness and skill.

Yup, I think Fletcher did an outstanding job!

If he resigns before the season, I do not think he will, it will be for what he is making now imo.

Only the star players will get the big bucks as we have seen. He isnt a star player.

I've said this many times last year, worse experience/season I have ever been apart of in 40+ years.

Now I'm extremely excited to see the team play. The question is will they continue to be bipolar (they look like a top team then all of a sudden look like the worst), not show up for a full 60 mins?

If some of those issues disappear then maybe we know the problems of this team were traded away.
