I don’t know….apparently Sanheim is getting a raise and his numbers were atrocious. - landros 2
Players don’t go down in salary. At worst they get a slight bump on potential alone |

Because he wasn’t on phone with chuck I give 1st rounders away fletcher - Stayin alive
Who on this board calls him "Chucky Pantload" ? That's hilarious. I guess they think this team can win now, we'll see. I don't see it. Last season was disgraceful on so many levels. |

I still think they badly need a shoot first player in the top six but maybe they’re banking on Farabee filling that void.
D I’m not worried about which in turn should be a big boost to the goaltending. |

So much for my theory that no players were going to get overpaid this off season. I don't understand these owners and GMs. They keep saying, flat cap, flat cap ... but then Chicago goes out and does this. This deal for Jones is a real overpay IMO. I know he has the leverage, but this is too much for this type of player. - jd250
Silly boy. Like I said flat cap is excuse. Nothing changes these stupid gm’s from doing dumb poop. The teams fire gm’s too damn fast. There is no build for future win now damn tomorrow. |

Blue chip guys will always get paid. - PT21
They ALL get paid until there’s no $ left. Nothing will ever change. Aren’t they cool? Just like risto will get paid. And in a few years we will be giving picks away to trade him like ghost. This (frank)ing team will NEVER learn |

They also pander to the fans that are impatient and don't want to wait out a full rebuild. How has that worked out, we haven't won a cup in a bazillion years. |

Really? So the Flyers are the only team looking to sign a FA defenseman? Who did you have in mind that would have been better than Risto given the contract the Oleskiak just signed with Seattle? Any FA defenseman is going to get $5M+ per. Risto gets slightly more, and I think is better than the FA defenseman left there to sign in this price range. - jd250
Well once Fa open up you’ll see. I said all along if you’re gonna move assets whether it’s prospects young player or picks go get a star player. Ellis and risto are not that. Ellis is nice. I can live with risto but not at given up picks. I mean risto is worth maybe a 3rd. Oh price is 13th and a 2nd? K no thanks. Just go with vet stop gap in Fa at less cost no assets given. They’ll be plenty in a week. Fletch flinched and jumped the gun per usual. Just like poopty Gustafson signing last year. Yes they are clearly better on back end. How good tho? You think they’re better than barely playoff team? So why give up the capital? To get a little better. Serious with these hauls team getting why not trade coots? Could’ve gotten a lot. |

Top end skill that’s turned into a bit of a project. If they get him straightened out people will forget about giving up a 1st for Risto - hereticpride
K. And when he get big contract and we lose young players or have no cap flexibility surely we will love it too. |

They don’t care about winning. They care about appeasing a dumb ass fan base that want the appearance that they tried to win. That’s the problem.
Philly is getting absolutely (frank)ing roasted
Ghost hagg 1st 2nd2nd7th for …
Risto.
Flyers fans~ oh we got some d now. We might be able to compete …
Whole world dying laughing.

I'm glad we're on the same page. The damage is done, I hope Ellis and Risto can push our team into the playoffs but I'm skeptical we can contend for the cup. Mediocrity. |

That fan base is so beaten down and apathetic as it is, I just find it hard to see them move their franchise cornerstone and only player that realistically puts butts in seats, triggering a full-blown rebuild. They have to have someone to build off of, though Eichel might force their hand. They’re in a real tough situation. |

Reminiscent of Arthur Kaliyev a couple drafts ago. He'll probably go early second round. We should move up and grab him. Just tell CF not to blow a first round pick on the early second round pick lol |

Hope runs eternal. Now they've got Power and Rosen to look forward to. And probably one of the top-3 kids from next year's super draft. What's a few more years of suffering for a Sabres fan?
