I don't understand some moves. Why did Carolina trade Jake Bean for a 2nd?
- MJL

They also traded Nedeljkovic after developing him for like 7 years because they didnt want to pay him 3.5m...

Logjam on D, strict internal salary cap. Would have made more sense to trade him before the expansion draft instead of exposing him, tho.

I'd have rather kept Myers and signed Jones if I had a choice.
- MJL

Hindsight is one thing. For a while I have said we should go for zadorov. Chicago is now in a tough spot. Wonder if Haag and just the 2 nd wouldā€™ve work to help them. Yeah well not the gm and what is done is done.

Anyone see his presser? When asked he said he believes heā€™s not going to be active trading. Sign the rfa s, goalies, maybe d depth and forward p k depth.

I could not get over that one. Iā€™d have been all over that on a two year deal.

You would have liked to sign Jones to that contract? I donā€™t like losing Myers either.

Rasmus Ristolainen Is actually the guy I want to see with Provorov. Sanheim with Ryan Ellis.

Iā€™m sure thatā€™s on the table. Have to see the chemistry they have on ice.

im happy, we got rid of picks, which is a gamble for proven talent. our 1st rounder stings, but it will be 3-5 years before they contribute anyw .ayIt cost a couple picks and our 3 worst players from last year to have a very much improved D. This will also help our forwards immensely. Im looking forward to next year. MAybe chuck even has another move in the works. Thatd be so awesome
- bradster

I think he does, after all think about it. He needs to extend Hart and Sanheim, that will cost him between $6-$7M. Then he needs to get a backup goalie which will cost him another $2-$3M so there goes his $10M of cap space. Today Fletcher said he would like to get a gritty forward that can help on the PK, so the only way this happens is another trade. I still say Jake is getting traded this off season, maybe not this week but its happening.

Well think about it. Sanheim I thought was good last season, not great and also had his issues himself, not just his partner. Rasmus Ristolainen Is coming from a poop organization. So bad pair. Ryan Ellis should work wonders for Sanheim.

So much for my theory that no players were going to get overpaid this off season. I don't understand these owners and GMs. They keep saying, flat cap, flat cap ... but then Chicago goes out and does this. This deal for Jones is a real overpay IMO. I know he has the leverage, but this is too much for this type of player.

I just donā€™t understand it at all. If my math is correct they have 37% of their cap tied up in 3 players.

He just sits there like a lump of crap! Why he is there, to just make the number of people sitting down an even number?
