Risto playing on a team with a professional coach, and can actually play hockey I think will be a huge difference maker. Risto said as much today when he said "I am the type of player that wants to play in meaningful games, I consider myself a playoff type player". Doesn't this bolded part point towards team coaching/management as a bigger issue here? Assuming they've watched him the whole time he's played there and they are still putting him in the wrong position and not otherwise making the team better?

Ristolainen/Sanheim is going to very similar to Myers/Sanheim. Ristolainen is more physical, but he's not a good defender.

Reading that some out there are basically asking why not just keep ghost? Umm ok. We tried to get rid of him on waivers and no takers. I think he and the team needed a change. I’ll be very interested to get Bills take on this trade.

One saving grace of this trade might be that the 1st round pick could mean nothing in what is expected to be a franked draft.

At least thats the hope. No doubt we improved significantly. But at what cost?

I love all the negativity towards Risto. Won’t be long until he is a a fan favourite. Just watch.
