You guys scored on Ellis and gave a little much for Risto...
But your backend is better today than a week ago and much nastier, that is for damn sure. Not a bad week all things considered. - dozerD10
Thanks for the kind words, but we're having a complete and total melt down in here... |

the one aspect to this trade I haven't seen yet, is how much salary is Buffalo retaining? |

I AM GOING TO (frank)ING LOSE IT!! HAS ANYONE SEEN THIS GUY PLAY?!!! BUFFALO HAS BEEN TRYING TO GET RID OFF THIS GUY FOR YEARS. HE IS EPICALLY BAD IN D COVERAGE! THERE ARE DEFENCES WHERE HE WOULD NOT CRACK THE BOTTOM PAIRING!! WE GAVE UP A FIRST FOR HIM?! - PT21
Why you yelling man? He did have 4 40+ Point seasons….he’s very physical. He’s played for a dog poop organization. He’s a legit top 4. Buffalo fans want to run everyone out of there. |

Gee, Fletcher, you could have signed Oleksiak and kept those draft picks and he's even cheaper than Rasmus.
Seriously, if Rasmus that much better than Oleksiak? - Captain_Ahab
If only they were allowed to negotiate with him before the Kraken |

I still don't like giving up a 1st for a soon to be UFA, not to mention the 2nd, but I like the defense. 2 things I will guarantee for next year:
1) Risto is the new whipping boy now that Hagg is gone
2) If Hart plays like 2 years ago this team will make the playoffs on better defense.
People will be changing their tune once the season starts, mark my words...well except the ones who poop on everything because they are who they are. |

Same here.
The cost sucks but you have to give to get.
On paper this roster covers the most bases of any Flyers team since the Pronger injury. |

the mix looks good, not only should Ellis be good for Provy, I think Provy knowing he has a good six will give him confidence and be good for him. |

How many 40+ point seasons has Ghost had? I know he had that one fluky 65 pointer. |

Terrible trade, Ristolainen is mediocre at best.
This team is a disaster - BiggE
How many times you watch him? Or you just going by the Hockey Futures analytics nerd herd opinion?
They are losing it over there aren't they? First Ghost now this. Hope Frost is next. |

Should I run some stats for you? Do you even pay any attention to how the league views Risto? I am disappointed to see you and Hextall271 essentially join the SHOOT crowd, replacing SHOOT with HIIIIT. Y
ou want to win or you want to hit somebody? Should we bring back Jim Vandermeer?

Yeah. I’m reading none.
Bill is ok with the trade as a 2nd pie option as long as he can be resigned |
|
|
|
Here’s the problem giving up 13 and a 2nd.
Risto is fine on 2nd pair.
If he doesn’t sign extension and trade at deadline you probably not getting a higher 1st and 2nd pick
If you resign him it’s gonna be term/$$$ is risto worth say 5/30 mil?
On the plus side if he resigns the d is set for the foreseeable future. Is it good enough? Possibly…. Maybe….
I guess it can work time will tell |

Risto will show flashes of okay what a great game do that again, followed by 10-15 miserable ones.
get ready for Risto to get the puck and bang it off the glass to get it out of the zone.
his physicality you will like and his ability to piss people off.
Again, just dont play him top minutes. |

Yeah a playoff team for sure. Not a true contender though. Giving up the amount of future assets Fletcher has to be a playoff team non-contender is bad team building and poor asset management. |

I know giving away a first wasn't ideal but they've filtered out lesser players and have been bringing in better ones.
Still hoping that backup goalie gets done soon. |

The bias for action crowd is upset? Can’t have it both ways. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
One of the worst trades I have seen in a long time. He should be fired.
Hagg, a 1st, and a 2nd? After a 2nd yesterday? Who could have possibly signed off on that? Wow. |

Some choice quotes:
https://afpanalytics.com/...lainen-what-is-his-value/
When looking at the 2016-2017 season, we see that the Sabres got absolutely caved in when Ristolainen was on the ice.
We now see three straight years where Ristolainen’s team gave up significantly more shots when he was on the ice versus when he was off.
Last season (2018-19), Ristolainen performed the worst among the comparison group. Because of the unpredicatability of goaltending his poor performance here could be the result of the Sabres’ goaltending tandem of Carter Hutton and Linus Ullmark playing dreadful hockey after the Sabres’ improbable hot start. However, Ristolainen was paired with his most competent partners during the 2018-2019 season but put up his worst results. |

You just saw him play against the Flyers and he pushed a vanilla team around so he is good? Is this like the Max Talbot hiring? The Jody Shelley hiring?
Do you realize we just gave up a first for a D-man who would probably rank like the 80th best D-man in the league right now? And took on a largish contract?
Whats happening guys? I thought getting butt-(frank)ed by Mika Z and the blueshirts was good enough for a season? Want to relive the memory? - PT21
No I’ve watched him a bit more then that….I think he fills a need. He moves the puck pretty good for big guy. Is it an over pay? Maybe…but not by a lot.
I was not a big Hagg fan….I see more then enough second rounders never get a sniff…as far as the 1rst rounder, that’s about what I would expect…kinda opens up my plans for tonight…but oh well. |
