Cannucks taking on OEL? lol
all of the bad GMs today making the worst moves. Fitz better be ready to pounce. - Pomegrant
What’s the deal with OEL? Wasn’t he a stud? I’ve barely paid attention to Arizona since having kids. Well barely paid attention to the nhl since lol
Also I’m pretty sure other than the 12 pick that Arizona’s return is poop |

If today is the day of bad GMs overpaying for assets/cap space and we can't get involved, staying out of it won't make us miss anything. Teams still need to move money after the draft for FA. It's all of the dumb GMs need to trade their first round picks right now and are getting fleeced for it. - Pomegrant
Some of the worst trades in recent memory. Come on Fitz, jump in and fleece someone. |

@PierreVLeBrun
So the full deal is:
OEL and Garland for Roussel, Eriksson, Beagle, the 9th overall pick, 2nd RD pick in 2022 and 7th pick in 2023. And Arizona retains 12 percent of OEL.
So in all of this Canucks get boat anchor OEL but ship out dead weight only to save $4.74 mil in cap space. Give them around 18 mil to re-sign Hughes, Pettersen and whomever else but probably need to flip Garland again since they can't fit him as well.
Think there is still room to poach Garland. |

I just dont understand it at all from VANs perspective. All 3 of the guys they shipped out as cap dumps expire in a year or two. Now they're stuck with OEL for 6 more years lol.
I really wanted Garland but if it was attached to taking OEL I wanted absolutely no part of it |

It's the culmination of signing bottom six forwards to way too much money. He's taking three bad cap hits that are unmovable but short term (good for Arizona) and making them into one terrible contract forever, all for minor cap relief because he can't re-sign his two superstar players that will both make ~$8 mil each.
Thing is, we can still get Garland from them because they don't have enough cap space to sign him either lol. |

I was watching hi-lites from Vasily Podkolzin, the 'nucks prospect. This kid is unreal. Amazing wrist shot, hits, fights, dangles and dekes. Imagine if Panarin was a bulldozer. |

Nothing new, but on the NHL Network a few minutes ago Friedman said the Devils are in on Tarasenko and Dougie Hamilton |

Pretty crazy how we all keep comping to this terrible site for so long lol. I like the comment sections here more than any other hockey sites though. |

It sounds like no one wants him so hopefully it’s our second. I read something earlier in the week saying he didn’t like was he was being offered, and not being selected in the expansion draft has to lower the value more. |

I hope so. I'm totally fine giving up a 2nd or 3rd and something else for him and taking the risk
It sounds like hes completely healthy and everything medically has checked out. I think he would be guaranteed 20-25+ goals minimum on Hughes wing if he plays in 70+ games, so i think hes worth the risk for us. Just not at the cost of a 1st + |

Its certainly possible, but at the same time i feel like theres a good chance GMs probably think Jones is a better player than Hamilton because they're old school hockey men. But again, we probably need to overpay no matter what, and from the very beginning i figured it'd take somewhere in the 9-10M range for us |

Question: Would you take DeAngleo on a 1 year league minimum deal to play on the 3rd pair? Would make the Rags/Devs game pretty entertaining.
