Eichel's attitude / past season vs Sam's excellent season and non injury are 2 completely different animals.

Sam's value has never been higher IMO.

Good. Despite what he wants and what others think, in a TECHNICAL sense the Sabres hold all the cards here.

If I have one of the best assets in the World that I can benefit from keeping, tangible revenue benefit if he can contribute to a playoff run, why the heck am I going to meet your asking price if the value of keeping the asset exceeds the value of trading it?

It's simple economics here. Which blows my mind that Botterill with his MBA couldn't understand this.

Maybe there is a progression here:

1. GMTM - terrible draft/terrible trades
2. GMJB - good draft/terrible trades
3. GMKA -???

he's looking to win trades - not just make trades. Negotiation is an uncomfortable process, and making the other side uncomfortable (ie. frustrated) is a sign that he is doing things right and maximizing value.

But we shall see.

But...

All their Social Media is geared around the youngins.... No Jack, Risto, or Sam.

Well let the day play out, even if they had parameters of trades worked out they probably won't release them until the either the pick comes up or closer to the draft. Who knows maybe someone comes in with a better offer.

Go back two years when Vegas had there draft. Remember alot of people on this board including myself being like WTF are they doing. They did not go with the conventional best player available, choice secondary players with side deals.

How quickly we forget……Ill wait to judge Ron. Still waiting on first good thing Adams has done. Go into offseason with NO NHL goalies…?

Hes put a good crew around him.

I remember that very well.

And it IS a very DANGEROUS play. It certainly strengthens the "divorce is imminent" narrative and really WOULD be the team equivalent of Jack leaving loud.

I just think the Front Office needs to show some strength to the other org's because they've just been a joke for so long.

I've said this from the beginning and once traded the surgery issue goes away. Eichel may have wanted to cause the controversy to get traded but he also gave teams a reason to be cautious or he may have been traded by now. Not because he wants out but I think the guy is an immature POS as a person. Hopefully Adam's sticks to what his price is
