Good post stripes.

I feel like sam and risto could be easily flipped at the deadline, due to their reasonable expiring contracts.

I've personally changed my mind, I want eichel to stay.

Someone mentioned the granato/ eichel connection and hopefully donnie asked for a 1 time , give me a chance favor?

Also, eichel seems to be avoiding surgery, so he can play a few games this year and if things aren't going well.....

- Boss34

If Eichel and Reinhart are both on this roster opening night, I think Donnie can fix a lot wrong with this team.

Will that be enough to convince both to stay? Doubtful

For a 10 million $ guy with 4 more years left 🤔

Exactly, it's not like it's a pending UFA

Umm not enough ...... Kakko isnt even very good. Yes, a number 2 overall pick but hes literally done nothing.

Laf + top 10 pick + cap dump + D'Amdre Miller or Sherkstin

- Sabretooth9

We could flip him, that's what I would do anyways

Seravalli said Rags trying to move up in the draft...thinks it is bc the Sabres want another lottery pick. Says Rags are the odds on favs for Jack.

I’ll do this slowly

- People are looking at Power’s point totals as a reason he’s not a top offensive player

- Power play points dictate a players point totals

- Power wasn’t their top PP guy this year, they went with an older York.

- York is now in the AHL, and Power will be the #1 guy, and will see his points skyrocket

Hope this helps

- sbroads24

I struggle because his last name is Power and I'm reading about Power's Power Play Points and I can't digest all this.

Think Oscar's Lemonade Stand analogy to Michael Scott explaining a budget surplus....I need that level of explanation.

As of early morning, at least, Buffalo's "demands" on return for Eichel remain fantastical.

- Stripes77

Good. Don’t budge and keep him if your offer isn’t there. Other teams are “frustrated” because they can’t rip us off

You have to wonder if it was a ploy to cause a divide with the sabres.

"Eichel feels great" No chance if he needed surgery or rehab for 6-8 months.

More behind the store than fans know I think.

- sabresfan69

Good post.

Eichel's attitude / past season vs Sam's excellent season and non injury are 2 completely different animals.

Eichel's value is down
Sam's value has never been higher IMO.

The injury and eichels sensitively were a stage act.

But then you're trading a player like Eichel to a team who will then most likely have a much better record overall and have a lower pick in the first round...

The only team I would consider doing that with is Anaheim because they need A LOT

- Stripes77
That is the team I was thinking, if they want Eklund, make sure he is there, if not, we take 2022 1st and gamble its a top ten.

I could see Philly sending Farabee and 2022 1st for Rino

Seravalli feels the Rangers are the odds-on favorite to land Eichel at this point.

As he reported yesterday, they’re trying to acquire a Top-10 pick to use in a deal with the Sabres.

Im confused, wouldnt the Rangers acquiring a top 10 pick require a good asset going the other way?

Why wouldn't you just take that asset and include it in an Eichel deal?

Sam seems more "gone" due to the contract status and probably percieved disrespect. (Short contracts)

Eichel with the back is a complete intangible.

I'd like to see sam, risto and skimmer moved for the right packages.

Good. Despite what he wants and what others think, in a TECHNICAL sense the Sabres hold all the cards here.

If I have one of the best assets in the World that I can benefit from keeping, tangible revenue benefit if he can contribute to a playoff run, why the heck am I going to meet your asking price if the value of keeping the asset exceeds the value of trading it?

It's simple economics here. Which blows my mind that Botterill with his MBA couldn't understand this.

Maybe there is a progression here:

1. GMTM - terrible draft/terrible trades
2. GMJB - good draft/terrible trades
3. GMKA -???

Maybe he can do both??? Fingers crossed.

Yeah....Well Golisano didn't allow him to reach the CAP year after year. Ownership screwed that up
- pwasil7

Yeah...Well why couldn't he bring Bobby Ryan or Shane Doan here in 2011, after Golisano was no longer the owner?

They can take their time on Eichel.

However if they don’t deal Risto and Reinhart (if he isn’t staying) I’ll be a little worried
