Hard to get a victory cheer in here. 10 years of trauma and a pandemic will do that I guess.

I am thrilled. I didn’t even hate Risto. The Ehlers rumour was a maybe, pipe dream
Probably. Risto was not happy here,
We got way too much for him. Time to rejoice

Teams are going to pay if they want Eichel and Adams has made it known league wide.

No. risto still blows, and we got killing for him.
- Mentalorgasm5

You know what’s gonna be even funnier then the return we got for Risto today ?

Where are all of these posters going to be when Risto eats crap with the Flyers ? Will they even show their face and still talk about how good he is ?

Or will they escape and play the “I never thought he was good” card ?

Everyone said Flyers contracts were unmovable without retaining significant salary. Buffalo just got rid of a player they've been wanting to rid themselves of for a long time, and got a roster player a first and second round pick to boot. While retaining no salary. If it wasn't that clown bum Fletcher I would think this is a made up trade.

Salty

The fact that the Sabres didn't have to take Ghost back is incredible.

Just a terrific deal. What's next?

If Adams takes Power over Eklund, should he be fired?

Arizona fielding offers on Dvorak...Flip pick 13?
- Stripes77

He’s 25
Is that young enough for our new rebuild?

I don’t think we should be trying to be “good” now
Not in that way at least

Acquire Cap dumps like Voracek, Subban, etc etc to get extra 1sts & help build this team up the right way

Suzuki. He’s going to be a good first line center.

I am surprised they got a 2nd too but it is reported that other teams were offering 1sts so they must have really wanted him to beat them.
- GilPerreault11

The other teams were in the 20's so Philly won with 13 but that he also got the 23 2nd is what makes this trade even more satisfying.

I don't see him as a real first liner.

More like a 1B. Hes as close as can be.

Once again, what is McCabes excuse ?

The best evaluators of talent use all information at their disposal.

Risto’s eye test was brutal, and his analytics are brutal.

Could have had Ehlers for him two years ago and we are probably not talking about trading Eichel and Reinhart today.

But keep at it keyboard warrior

- Pegullaville

Cant have 2 opinions on here. Will get bashed.

There really is no way to defend Risto with the stats he has. All there are are excuses.

Philli thinks they just need Risto to be put in the right situation with less minutes I guess. But after paying what they did they must think he is a 1st pair D

Good luck with that. We tried that for 8 years

If they stay at 13 I think they have to
- Stripes77

Lots of options
But I’m not opposed to getting Wallstedt or Cossa

Adams was offered the 13th pick for Risto, and then asked for a 2nd to be included. He has the cashews to take Eklund at 1.

I'll be texting my sources.

- Mentalorgasm5

Nope - they’ll take Powers 1oa. Only way they take Eklund is if they trade down to 3Rd with ANA:

Reinhart, johnson and 1oa

For

Drysdale, zagras 3oa

Or something like that- the above might be too much to give up for Ana

Buddy I am thrilled.

We traded an AHL d-man for the 13th OA pick in the draft.

How can I not be thrilled

- Pegullaville

I think your scouting skills just got graded down a few notches keyboard GM. It's hard to evaluate a D playing top minutes on a crap team though so I would just let this one go and take the loss.
