Looks like Vancouver made a deal. The unconfirmed details are OEL and Garland for Beagle, Eriksson and the 9th overall.

I'm sure it's compliant by whatever guidelines given the NHL hasn't disapproved of the trade but seems odd that the Coyotes had sanctions levied on them for past transgressions that made them forfeit their 2021 1st round pick and now they gain that pick back AND it's 2 spots better (11th to 9th).

IDK? I'm not complaining I'm just saying Timmo, the worst outlier in the history of TDL D-men trades always used here as a comparable for guys we have now did not cost a 2nd rounder until we won the cup.

I am curious if Stan is taking a more conservative approach by saying "he will not sign an extension with us right now" and then hoping to sign Jones during the year. Trying to use that as a bargaining ploy to lower the price?

That's not really Stan's style he's quick to sign longer deals when able soon after/during a trade. Who knows when they agreed?

Hey 53, I don't have an opinion. I'm a USHL guy, go to Steel games and buy the league streaming service so I watch the whole league.... Of course I know about the top 20-30 guys from around the world like most and watch the U-18 and U-20 WJC's and see guys outside the USHL that way plus some You Tube.

But having previously read around I like the kinds of players you gravitate to and wish the Hawks would too. Guys who will get in on the puck and knock people down.

If the Hawks were thinking goalie it might. AZ traded their top young goalie Aiden Hill to SJ a few days back and the 2 on the NHL roster are Kuemper (UFA next yr and said he won't extend) and Raanta is a UFA today.
