Strome, Rights to Zadorov, Suter, and Beaudin....if Columbus wants the 1st you get their late one back. If they insist on a pick but wont swap, I'd give them a 2nd.

For everyone saying NO to Jones....who are we going to miss out this? Suter is replaced by Reichel. Kurashev stays for depth.....

- SteveRain

I'd do that. Don't know that CBJ would. Beaudin could turn out to be pretty decent and I think Suter's a middle 6 forward, but I think we have several of those guys.

Like you mention, Reichel could be up this year or later but I'd hang onto him. If they didn't have to trade Kurashev, even better.

I agree...not sure they would, but they are getting 4 NHL calliber/ready TODAY assets....plus a possible pick.

Sabres are on full dump mode...

What do you think a team would have to give up for Eichel?

- NamedSources

Screw Eichel.

Kane, Boqvist, Strome, 11th pick for 1st pick.

Draft your #1 D-man of the future.

along with Olesz skates I think that will get it done.

When will Evan Barratt be ready to make the jump? Who does he replace? Kurashev?, Hardman? Hagel? Borgstrom?Nylander?. Figuring Entwhistle replaces Kampf eventually, Stan has to figure out which of his prospects to keep, and which to try and maximize a return.

The Sabres have reportedly been seeking at least 4 assets whether a mix of players, prospects, and picks. Their ask is too astronomical from what I've read not to mention no confirmation on Eichel's surgery status.

I personally pass on Eichel even without these aforementioned factors. The Hawks are rebuilding and he's likely to bellyache at any chance he gets to criticize management or if anything doesn't go his way.

It's not that management should be shielded from criticism as they should (for a lot of reasons) but having a player constantly be a malcontent is not what the young Hawks need.

So if Risto brings back that package what will Jones bring back?
- Mr Ricochet

The Ristolainen trade will be some sort of benchmark for a Jones trade. And if more top 4 D-man are traded in the next week or so, those could also moderate what Columbus gets in return for Jones.

i agree but it takes another team out of the running....only so many other options for Columbus to engage in....and.....if a buying team doesn't think Jones is signing LT there, zero chance they give up a kings ransom for a rental player for a year.

I would ask what he said, but seeing as it's Bernstein 1) I really don't care. 2) When it comes to Hockey, he knows way, way, way less than he thinks he does.

I think the 14th overall, a 2nd next yr and Haag for Risto is a bit high. You?........ But as always when a GM has a restricted amount of teams the player will go to he has less leverage. In "theory" that helps StanBow when negotiating for Jones.

Hawks should move on from Jones and see what Vancouver would want to take holotby smicht and boser

Zadorov to Vancouver makes sense on so many levels. The Canucks are looking for a young physical d-man and they want a Russian to help acclimate their top prospect, Podkolzin.

I'd do Z for Holtby and the 2021 #9. Holtby sucks but the Hawks could use him as a back-up. The buyout for Holtby isn't too bad, $500,000 this year and $1,900,000 next.

- DarthKane

Even better trade proposal to not add the Hawks 2021 1st. Adding in a later pick would be fine or a B-level prospect which could be Delia.

This would necessitate shipping out one or both of Delia and Subban to make room for Holtby.

Would they accept de Haan if not Z? Strome + de Haan for Holtby, Schmidty, & #9 pick? Buyout Schmidty.
- Assman22

Perhaps they consider de Haan given he'd be on an expiring contract. A rumor I've seen is the Canucks want to rid themselves of Schmidt in order to take a run at Ekman-Larsson.

If the Hawks are to trade with the Canucks, I'd take Holtby over Schmidt as there's more utility for a veteran goalie to support Lankinen than an overpaid D-man like Schmidt especially if the Hawks are pursuing Jones.

I definitely want Boeser. Don't care too much for the others. I know they got players to resign, but I don't care to help Van out that much.

Maybe the darts will be coming my way, but I’d rather keep Kurashev over Suter, I love his shot and he seems to be more engaged defensively.
- Angotti

If it's between Suter and Kurashev, I keep Kurashev as well. He's much stronger and defensively responsible.

Suter isn't a slouch in his own end but Kurashev is more effective. I like both players but do like Kurashev's upside more.

And you're right, Kurashev has a wicked shot that he can unleash from anywhere.

Good points all around. Hopefully Bowman knows where to draw the line and walk away from the Jackets and hope that Jones hits free agency next summer to get another crack at him.

Yeah, I don't think Ristolainen was worth a 1st. If he garners a 1st, one would think Jones will get at least that plus other assets.
