Tunnel vision. He said publicly that they wanted to add a top defenseman, creating pressure on himself to get this pseudo-number 1 by any means necessary. The rebuild be damned. - Ogilthorpe2
And, as someone noted earlier, there's no longer anyone in day-to-day operations above or next to him at an equivalent authority level to curb his worst impulses. |

3 picks to go and Raty is still available. Should be be taken, my #2 choice is Robertsson. - DarthKane
I would be happy with either of those 2. |

I'm confused...NHL.com has him rated the #5 defenseman in the NHL and ESPN has him rated as the #6 defenseman in the NHL. If he wasn't a #1 defenseman, wouldn't he be ranked outside of the top 35? |

Exactly what it says...someone says Werenski carried Seth and you just grab it and use it as your own. Just be a bit better, that’s all! - rwilliams88
Yeah, ok. Just like you’ve heard of Seth Jones once or twice and heard someone refer to him as a #1 and just decided it must be true? |

My positivity & optimism are still there, because I want to be proven wrong. I fear how this affects the rebuild. First round picks, regardless of where they are picked, are nothing to brush off. - I Am The Breadman

Campbell didn't cost anything but money.
Jones cost money and pretty valuable assets. - L_B_R
Not mention Campbell was better and believe me, I was no fan of Campbell.
Also and more importantly, the Hawks had a terrible rep around the league because of the Dark Age they were just beginning to emerge from nd had to massively overpay a FA to turn the opinion around. |

Wow that’s a reach. He could have been had in the 3rd or 4th round given all that baggage. |

Because Bergevin was the one who buried the scandal for the Hawks, he knows how to make it go away? |

Yeah but his reasoning there wasn't a hockey guy above him. Nevermind the fact Bowman has been a hockey guy for 25 years and learned at the knee of his HoF father. |

Ask yourself if you can name 5 or 6 better than Jones. I bet you can easily. |

Oh boy...see I could do this all day. I love hockey, I watch hockey. I respect your opinion, I guess. But to be clear, I know you haven’t watched much of Seth, your opinion would be different if you did. Admit it or not, and with our great chat we’ve had, don’t think you will. Maybe next year you’ll see for yourself and give him some praise |

Nolan Allen
Has been touted as an upcoming elite prospect for more than a few years in his teens, due to his size, four way skating ability and balance on his skates. A big physical defenseman who blocks lots of shots, deliver punishing checks, pushes the better opposing players off the puck and jump up into his teams attacks as the fourth option. Needs refinement and hasn't shone he can enough speed or elusiveness to escape forecheckers while he is carrying. Reads the offensive zone well and keeps the puck low to the net through traffic. Loaned to the La Ronge Ice Wolves of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) during WHL shutdown. Was a member of the Canada’s 2021 IIHF Under-18 World Championship team.
In my Mock I had him from 84 to 117.
Addendum:
I am not making this up, trying to insult anybody but after the pick, I looked at Kyle Woodlief' s "There wizard of OZ Trifecta Trophy
4. Nolan Allen- His play around his own end is an U>S Republican Senator discussing Jaqnuary's attempted coup at the Capitol. |

Obviously your charts say he’s horrible and the one that tells me he’s gonna be horrendous in the next 5 years, now that’s some legit analytics. Why even play more hockey with that amazing chart. |

Good for you.
You’re the only one here on a hockey blog in July who loves hockey.
He could win the Norris next year, and I’d still think it was a dumb move for a rebuilding team to sacrifice the assets needed to build a team just to acquire one guy who will be past his prime by the time the team around him recovers.
I couldn’t give a flying (frank) what you think of my opinion. |
