Great comment from a Malcolm B on The Athletic article

This is the horrendous bad move
That Ryan Pace goes to bed dreaming about.

Someone please take the goalies soon!
- Ogilthorpe2

I have accepted our fate, Ogi. At 32, it doesn't bother me. Its a 2nd round pick and Cossa would be a good get there.

Probably one of the goalies to put a fitting cherry on top of this poop sundae of a day.

He may be the best choice there but I think the Habs are gonna snag him at 31.

Is this really true?

@ByScottPowers

The Blackhawks have drafted and developed two proven NHL defensemen in the last decade.

They traded the first one, Henri Jokiharju, two years ago, and now have dealt the second one, Adam Boqvist.

Isn't that part of Stan's purview, too? Making sure that the guys that Kelley and his other scouts are bringing to the table are actually developing into something useful for the team? I know there were issues with Dent, but didn't know it was this bad.

Honestly, I would prefer one of the Russians or Belarussian over the smurf Canuck Wiz has the Hawks taking at 32.

No, because neither of them are proven NHL defensemen.

Calling either proven at this point is a stretch and Powers fails to mention the full context which is par for the course. Plus, he thinks Shalunov is good.

Since the major (frank) up today from bowman we as fans move on and accept what happens and hope more moves are coming where do strome de hann a nd Zadorov end up. Plus either cossa or dach at 32 would be good. Need a goalie and or power forward.

I don't think he's kept a lot of his first round picks ...

Not lately, for sure

But, I'm wondering about the diamond-in-the-rough types like Keith and Shaw taken in later rounds. How long has it been since we've hit on one of those?

It has to be put into context. Like how many did other teams draft and develop. Or at least compare hos f1st round success against other GMs.

That being said. I am fully onboard the fire Stan train.
