Would love if they took Strome instead of other assets. Who knows though. Holland didn't retain any of Keith's salary against all common sense. Strome does have bonafides in being the 3rd pick overall a few years ago so who knows.

If it is me I would what till he is a free agent. He is a good player but he is not elite. I hope Stan doesn’t get all wrapped up in making a move just to make a move and overpay.

After reading this half a dozen times, I think I understand it. If there is a deal and it doesn't include Dach, DeBrincat or Reichel, I don't think I'd mind it. Also if there is something in there just swapping 1st rounders...also not bad.

I suppose we'll see and better buckle up. Could be an interesting day. Too bad Chiarelli didn't land in Columbus.

You have fair observations. Remember those reading about this exchange of players is being looked at from Columbus point - of - view. Strome could get stronger, work on face off and become at minimum more fiesty.....because he will not improve his skating

im fine with trading for jones, he was not good last year and will require a big contract so I would not give up crazy assets. the 11 pick has good value this year especially if you want a goalie which columbus probalby does. Cossa/wallatadt- boquist or Mitchell and one other piece kurashev/suter/strome I would be ok with. if they dont want Suter or Strome I would probalby want to inlcude dehaan to make the cap work. My point is if its even close to a overpay dont do it.

I dont disagree but this very well could be a message coming down from over Bowman's pay grade. They got rid of Keith....they desperately need a new "#1 d man" and the organization desperately needs good news in the court of public opinion.

Not saying I agree with all and/or any of the above, but based on the blue check marks on twitter reporting, and Bowman himself yesterday....he's laser focused on acquiring a D man right now.

Its already an overpay if the 11th pick is included, unless hawks are getting 25 and 32 back. 11th strome big z rights for 25th 32th liam foudy. Anything more then no let him go to Dallas.

I just hope the Hawks don't bid against themselves. If Dallas wants Jones, then they are picking Jones over Klingburg (as he becomes a UFA next year), and Columbus still has to pay Makar, and make room for Mc Kinnon's next contract)
