Reading the latest reports on the plaintiff (ex Hawks player) regarding the harassment he received from the players after he was raped by a coach. Wow, just wow... if this is true how can anyone who is a fan of this team can still support guys like Toews as well as management. Truly disgusting behaviour by all accounts and all should be ashamed. If proven to be true that they all knew then heads should roll across the board. Feel so sorry for that young man who had to endure such trauma and embarrassment. A new low for this team.

According to Cap Friendly Yotes retained $990k on OEL contract ($7.3 cap hit to Van). The 3 contracts they sent to AZ $11.8, that is a $4.5 mil savings they have $18 mil in space but only 15 signed (unsigned include Hughes, Peterson, Harmonic, Edler (retiring?), Garland, and the great Jimmy Vescey)

I would think the VAN GM knows what it takes to sign Hughes and Pettersson and factored in the OEK and Garland cap hits before making the trade.

The Hawks have very little of that. They already have the skilled, small and delicate covered in spades. Time for some size up front or in goal, preferably with an ugly disposition. Its the Central Division after all.

If the Hawks were looking goalie at 11 AZ having the 9 may hurt that but if they weren't one of those top 9 skaters would fall into their lap (Kent Johnson/Brandt Clark/Edvinsson?). ......

I'm already high on Sillinger and have since read an article in The Athletic talking to his youth coaches and his workout coach. Coach says he's had to chase the kid out of the gym (Duncan Keith popped into my mind) since he was 12-13 yrs old. Sad he put on 14 lbs of muscle from last yr to this.

Then I heard this podcast with Hockey Prospect and they have the kid ranked 5th! Says the kid is a beast and only 1 of 2 players they have ranked to score 25-30 goals in the NHL, the other being Lucius. Also talks about how hard to scout on video. How do we know that the Hawks don’t already have this goaltender in the system? They have Lankinen, Soderstom, and Commesso(sorry about spelling), keep adding Dmen and forwards. By the way, I would like to see more size on the backend, as long as they can play.

Curious if you have a thought, 38. Went to Cap Friendly to see their cap number and also heard centerman Dvorak is rumored on the block. Kid has 4 more yrs at 4.5 mil, nice fancy stats (responsible), hitting at .5 PPG with the horrid AZ franchise, is 25 yrs old and is at 53-54% at the dot.

Kid might make it to being a 2C and a floor of a very good 3C by all measures and very importantly is excellent at the dot.......... Hawks 2nd and DeHaan????

I absolutely love Boqvist potential. I also wonder if he is going to get hurt each season. Concussions .
We need a mean, big size dman. Bowman is g I in to keep drafting fast skilled dmen. So Jones compliments them. I just hope Kaizer is not part of the trade. Ideally Vlasic and Phillips make it. Beaudin will not last in Chicago. It seems apparent that Kalynuk is here to stay. Now did we loose Mitchell too. Maybe, because Cilumbus wants players, not another first round pick. And Bowman hopes a goaltender or Sillinger is available at #11..To get S Jina done Sillinger, would put us on track for coming a playoff contender, not pretender. But we need some the grit and checking added from Rockford bottom six type forwards..Maybe the Notre Dame kid joins up eventually. We shall see Hardman contribution .

All in all Bowman making us a tougher team
