I noticed Raty is still on the board. They should move up to snag him. - JRR1285
I want Strome to OTT for 39 and 42 and take Raty and Helenius |

I can dig it.
But then who TF is playing center? |

I think the return is underwhelming but it's still something.
People are acting like the Rangers let Tavares get to FA. - JRR1285
Exactly.
So much female doging.
It was no secret we were going to trade skill for grit. We got a rough, cost effective guy in his prime to help GIVE AN IDENTITY TO OUR BOTTOM 6, plus a second round pick for a guy without a contract, awaiting a hefty raise.
Aka, exactly what we were asking for. And yet we, predictably, can't find any silver lining here. |

Chytil I guess. They need to address the center position and yet continue to make moves that do the opposite. It’s why I wanted Kostin back from STL. He could start as our 3C but has the potential to be a top 6 center in a year or 2. Maybe target Bennett from FLA since they’re getting Reinhart. |

This is what I am trying to believe right now. I still think it sucks on some levels but it's done. Hopefully Blais can do what is needed of him. |

We weren’t asking to get smoked in trades. Yes we need to add grit, that doesn’t mean trade guys just to trade them. Buch was our best trade chip and we got basically nothing for him. You make a trade like Gauthier for Blais, not Buch. |

Yeah, something has to give. I know they needed to address the bottom 6 but the gaping hole at center has not been address whatsoever. |

It's OK to be disappointed in the return but still be hopeful about what we got. What's done is done and I think Blais will endear himself to us fans quite nicely like an Ortmeyer or a young Callahan.

Gauthier is a fringe NHL player that got exposed in the draft. I don't think he has any value right now. |

If we we’re trying to get a RFA like Buch and it cost us Mason Gertsssen and a 2nd round pick last year we’d be saying wtf were they thinking. U can tell right off the bat when a trade is going to be good or bad usually and this one sucks. - nyrangers9479
Jesus man. How can you possibly think reading a bunch of articles makes you smarter than Drury??
Blais was a clutch contributor in winning a (frank)ing Stanley Cup. He has no comparison to Gertsson, who hasn't seen the inside of MSG without paying admission.
It's nice that you're writing the trade off 6 minutes after it happens. |

It’s not about being smarter than Drury. He dropped the ball. This one will be almost as bad as McD and Miller for a bag of pucks |

Nope. nyranger8675309 says Gauthuer is awesome, so he is. And Blais sucks and Drury sucks.
I guess adding Stanley Cup rings to the roster is only good if they are pre-approved by some wienerhead in his basement that follows twitter. |

Going off of his rate this year he projects as an 18 goal scorer putting up 34 points. That doesn't sound like a typical 4th liner to me. |

I think this is similar to the Hagelin deal
Reasons for trading Hagelin at the time were cap related. They got a 2nd rounder And a player and they purposely traded him to Western Conference |

That's actually an excellent comparison. Buch will suck with the Blues and get traded to Tampa and help them win more cups. |

Funny. That makes me think about how Tampa came up short and then went out and added guys like Maroon, Goodrow and Coleman. But, when we get to that point we are wasting assets.
The sky is always falling around here. |
