Calling it now, in three seasons, Othmann on one wing and Goodrow on the other. Going to be that high energy third line we’ve been wanting forever. And the cost to assemble it will be relatively cheap because of the ELC.
he was my pick for Florida in the mock draft and I did some research on him and he's got some serious promise. If OHL has a normal season this year he could shoot up to 40 goals.
I can definitely see why he'd be the best player available on their board at #15 but definitely the last thing they needed

Why the pass on goalie Jesper Wallstedt when he was still available? He's also rated high in potential with top skills, fluidness of movement, etc.; along with some Dominic Hasek type acrobatic ability as well if necessary as his last gasp to make a save, when totally out of position to do so.
But I agree with you on Othmann's positives. His 6' size and willingness to get under the opposing players' skin, goalie included, will be a positive here hopefully within a few years. For your reason stated with his selection "being the last thing they needed" position wise now, I like others here was also initially in shock since besides the goalie Wallstedt, there were still I believe 3 other top ranked overall picks as centers available for them to select among instead of the Left Winger Othmann.
Prior to free agency beginning, Drury must be working on alternative trades (non Eichel) to acquire a top two center, even if needing a third team to get involved, & to also fill the 3rd defense pairing opening with a tough veteran Left D'man to replace Smith. He cannot deal Strome yet unless it is directly in some package deal to bring in that top two center; or until he first acquires one through a separate trade to prevent him from paying higher in trade cost.
What are the chances if still needing that top center, that he attempts to bring in Landeskog as a free agent as he appears he will be within a few days? His AAV cap hit should be lower than Eichel's $10M, and with Buch already dealt yesterday as in effect, a 75% salary dump, it's as if Buch were the roster player who's eventual new higher contract amount was dealt to acquire Landeskog instead of the injured Eichel.

As long as they use the cap space on a center I can understand moving him. Although the return still sucked - TPC
Agree, that’s the move we need to see to get everyone to chill the (frank) out. The Buch return sucked, but reality is Drury took the best offer out there. Why wouldn’t he have? Trade deadline was the time to coup a 1st rounder +. Think everyone is going to really like Blais too.
