This is just such a far cry from the Buch for Horvat (true or not) trade we talked about a few days ago and the return is a let down.
There has to be a bigger plan in play. - climbdenali12

One of my bandmates is a Blues fan. He's reasonably high on Blais. Said he plays tough, digging minutes. Bumped up into the top 9 at times. As TPC said, he doesn't take penalties.
...all this aside, I still don't like it overall. Just hoping we will change our minds a little in the future. - Tonybere
Dude has something like 300 hits over the past few years. |

I will tell you who is going to be not happy about this Buchnevich trade, in addition to Buchnevich: Mika Zibanejad, Chris Kreider & Artemi Panarin, among others. - jimbro83
Artemi will be fine once he's playing with Kravstov every game. |

Those hits are definitely gonna make up for Buch's production... |

Blais is French-Canadian, and Sather taught Drury the same Jedi mind tricks that got the Rangers McDonagh for Gomez. I hope Drury is working that magic in Bergevin right now. |

I think Ryan is right. We have been focusing on Buch's development and skill, neglecting the fact that he's a free agent who makes 4 times as much as Blais. We were never going to get a top player for him in this situation. |

But the Canadiens didn't want Gallant |

I’m curious what they pay him. I know the return is poopty but I really don’t think anyone is going to miss Buch if something big is to follow. I know he put up a tremendous season in a very weird season and his all around game has improved but when I watch him play there’s nothing about his game that excites me. Idk i know i might be in the minority but I am happy we didn’t pay him long term |

And us getting Tarasenko, along w/ his contract, injuries, and declining play would be a good thing for NYR? |

There are reasons why Seattle didn't take him in the draft and why is still a blue. |

Much more to come from NYR .
Goodrow....a bit too much in $$/Term....getting him is needed and cost wont hurt us.
Buch for BLais/2nd rounder. expected return for a RFA w/arb. rights and not going to be resigned.
Drury will be judged on what shows up on the ice on opening night, and more importantly as the season progresses.
All will be well....All will be well
