So with Pitlick in at C, for the fourth line, what does this mean for Ruzicka?

We were hoping he has enough talent to be a 3rd line C. Any chance he could start out on Backlund's wing and learn the tricks of the trade?

- DuranDuran

Edit: I just posted basically the same thing as DEDDIE.

I'd maybe wait a bit on clowning on them. At least until it becomes clear that they're not going to win the next four Cups.

Or at least show they are gonna try to make it to the dance once in the next 4 years.

I think it’s more likely pitlick plays 3rd line RW. Assuming monahan is still here he could form an effective shutdown duo with backlund

Backlund does well covering for some of Lucic's deficiencies, I think its best to keep those two together. I think Dube does a good job supplying the speed and the skill with them as well. If not, do you move Luc down to the fourth line?

I think Pitlick will be 4C. But if Ruzicka can play 4C maybe you toss Pitlicl on RW you have to put Ritchie on his off-wing.......?

Will have to see what Sutter thinks.

Pitlick basically takes over for Ryan at half the cost & will actually hit. He'll be the Sutter perfect 4C & will get more ice time higher in the lineup if he brings his A game on most nights. Rosi will get in as there will be injuries but he's going to have to earn that regular shift. Im ok with Pitlick. What do you think of Monahan to LA Kings for Lemiux & the #8th over all?

You are (frank)ing high if you think Monahan alone gets anything close to the 8th oa. Ken Holland is not the GM there.

Hey John just heard from a Swedish site that the Flames are all set to sign Blake Coleman, have you heard anything on this?

Did I say he wasn't worth sh!t? I said he isn't worth the 8th overall pick. He's a 2nd line C on a good team. Do you think RNH would fetch the 8th overall pick?

You can't just ignore the past few seasons, or that he's coming off a pretty major surgery. No one is trading for Monahan unless they're getting him for a discount. The Flames aren't getting a package for a 30 goal first-line centre, and they wouldn't be trading him if they saw him as a 30 goal first-line centre.

If we keep # 12, Carson Lambos or Fabian Lysell. We need good skaters and Sillinger, Lucius & Coronato are not.

Not sure Columbus needs both of them, but maybe.

I'm not ready to walk away from Monny just yet. Let's see how he works out after the hip is fixed.
With Buffalo getting the 13oa for Risto, would you consider 12oa for Reinhart?

I'm not sure what we can get for Monahan, late first round 2021, not 2022. He doesn't play like a centre and is very slow. To get into the top 10, it takes Gaudreau or Tkachuk and the target would probably be William Eklund (top 5).

Lucic had a great year but banking on him to repeat it and expecting him on the 3rd line is a bit of a gamble at this point in his career. Also while it was one game he played very well with ruzicka and I think could be a good mentor/security guard for the kids coming through.

So with that said I would expect our bottom six to look somewhat like:

Dube-backs-pitlick
Lucic-ruzicka-Ritchie/Phillips

Monahans stats are actually a fair bit better than Nuge's, highest goals Nuge has is 28 & he has had 4 season of 20+ goals in the last 8 years. I still think Nuge with 2 more years on his deal easily could have gotten a top 10 pick. & Lemiux isnt what i would call a blue chip prospect. He's what 3 team in the last 1-2 years?

Yeah but Reinhart is way better than Risto & I can just imagine the prospect they would want. Would you give the#12, Peletier or Zary & a 2nd for Reinhart?
I dont think so. Flyers are insane for doing that. Francis sh!t the bed, he should have taken Ghost if Flyers were prepared to add a couple 2nds to it.

From a cap allocation, something needs to give & we need to move Backlund or Monahan. Too much $$$$ to 3rd line C imo.

Monahan might provide a bit more offense, but RNH offers a tonne of more defense. Their values are likely extremely similar. Neither is worth a top 10 pick, probably in the 20th range.

And Lemieux is not a prospect at all anymore. He's a 25 year old bottom 6, likely 4th line guy who provides toughness.

This makes sense, can probably swap out Ruzicka for Gawdin depending on Sutter.

I think Dube gets traded. We have too many small fast left wing. I know Mange has been decent playing off wing but Tre needs to start finding some balance and they have 6 lefties as top 6 wingers.

Dube for Kapanan? Pits needs skilled wingers.

Wow, Garbage for Garbage trade by Nuks, and Yotes. Vancouver may have gotten better by subtraction here. Yotes are becoming the trash hoarders of the NHL. Maybe they will take a bag of pucks for Dvorak..

Yotes have also acquired a 1st, four 2nds, a 3rd, and a 7th in collecting that Garbage too. Got a pick to send them for Dvorak. They'll probably consider it.

It's a really high cost, but Van is much better now. Roussell, Beagle, and Ericksson all have their contracts finished this year. OEL is getting 7 million till 2027.

Yotes are hoarding picks. Wonder if they would trade us the #9 for the #12 & one of our 3rds?
