At least this kills the Reinhart for the 9 OA rumor .

We have $18-19M right now with EP, QH and Garland to sign. They either need to move salary or some entry level deals are going to have to make big contributions.

Dlckinson as well. Juolevi too.

I'm assuming graovac will be brought back at 4C with Beagle and Sutter gone (which would be a smart move)

Not sure about the steal part but I feel the same. I can legitimately see this team making he playoffs and winning a round or two the next couple years. That's enough for me.

I tend to think of we can't win with Horvat on this contract we are going to be back to the retool anyways.

- belcherbd

IF OEL can regain most of his form then his contract will be a bonus not a minus, big IF however. That's where I see the steal potential.

Okie dokie that roster is written in stone. Nothing else is to come.

Try reading the 1 sentence. Thx

- Nighthawk

I read it, I understand, and I recognize that plenty of things could (will) still change. But I can’t support that roster going into a season, and I hope the Canucks know they can’t as well.

I did see Garland at $5m, is that roughly what he’s making now?

Those are B level prospects at best.
Again, everyone said he's a draft guru, but has dealt more picks than he has obtained over 7 years. Benning is going all in this year, and I get it, it's just not what I would have done, but I'm not an NHL GM so there's that

- Codes1087

best part of all this is that at least we get to vent/mock.

there are a few "real" fans that you know are going insane with what's going on but are too deep into benning that it's better to just go deeper into the crevasse than go back. that's hilarious!

I think the most important question is if this is a top 10 team, or a top 5 team now?

If there's no money UFAs aren't coming.

sure, that wouldn't be unrealistic.

the context around it is that he is now on his second contract and the team just took on a contract for 7.25 for six years. that's a bad contract.

so if you combine those two things together it means that this team has to win pretty soon or the team's cap falls apart.

jb manages a cap like someone who uses those payday loan places.

- RealityChecker

Rolling the dice

Bold & aggressive. Gonna be more fun this season. Cap will rise in years to come. More cap will go out soon imo.

Woo is still in the system. Jurmo, Focht, Lockwood, Silvos. We still have some prospects with a shot, and lots of time to restock before our current core starts to age out.

Honestly, if we can't show Bo and company that we are willing to compete this year and make the team better, we may as well trade Bo, Miller, Boeser and rebuild all over. Do you think Bo is re-signing in 2 years to a team still thinking about its cupboards today?
- Retinalz

Bo was pretty clear on his media exit interview, when he said he is tired of not being in the playoffs and the team needs help from the other lines.
Benning has added 2 good 3rd line guys, with Dickinson and Garland, with Podkolzin also in the mix.
Now they need to address the defense.

Yeah he needs a deal too, Podz coming in on entry and we'll still have 3 forward spots to fill and a couple of D spots.

My overview take…

JB is sold on OEL will rebound.
He got his top 6 winger & better than some might understand. 3rd line looking awesome. The 9oa isn’t stellar but still good. That pick is overrated. Cap dumps expedited the rebuild & all in mode for the playoffs. More moves coming no doubt.

fair enough. but if jb doesn't thread the needle, it'll just be a wasted decade of trying shortcuts and trying to convince the fans it's because they're too impatient.

Just when all the bridge deals expire

Plus the last of the ELC and with no good ELC players coming due to trading away all the picks.

Changed Garland to 4/4.5m

More moves to come & I’ll adjust ACGM accordingly.

Sutter 4C at 1/1m?
