Risto is younger, bigger, more physical and a true RD so I'd expect less for Schmidt

Flyers paid a price but feel Ristolainen at 26 fits in well with their group. Wanted his size and physicality.
Several teams were in on him which drove up the price. Hagg had to move to make money work.

This is good for Van if a lot of teams were after him, now off the board and the attention will turn to other defenders.

Not a lot of happy Flyers fans right now.

Add Vancouver to another team to watch today. They're actively shopping Schmidt & Holtby. They are willing to trade the 9th overall pick. They are in the market for a top-six winger, and top-four D. Lots of exploring.
