Hope Seattle do well enough so all the whiners and flakes start cheering for them…constructive debate on positives and negatives is great, constant female doging is annoying - CoolerHeads
I think that’d have the opposite effect: it’d give us even more ammunition. How about — and I know this sounds crazy — the Canucks start doing well enough that people don’t have as much whine about? |

JB obviously saw him play against some of the worst hockey countries at the u18s - manvanfan
If they based this pick off of one tournament then I agree that is not sound drafting, sure hope there is more to it than that |

I will never live that way…some people are just built that way I guess…employees vs employers, etc. |

TBH I would trust the word of the experts in here who seen 10 minutes of video on the player instead of a staff of real scouts.

He is signed for the KHL next season.
Highest PPG as a u18 player in the Belarus 2nd division.
Hopefully he turns into https://www.eliteprospect...271111/yegor-sharangovich
Who NJ took in the 5th round. |

About two weeks ago Benning said most of these players they have been scouting for years. I would guess they did their homework. |

Live what what? And are employees less optimistic than employers? How does that fit? Lol |

I am surprised Francesco still pays a scouting staff. He should save his money and just follow HB

I would have many more defense prospects to than what we have right now, but the team would have zero forwards. Lol |

Some people don’t waste time complaining and create their own path…some sit around and whine haha not rocket science |

Agree more Dman picks over the years would have been ideal |

We already know that a monkey could have drafted better than Gillis, so I agree, if the Canucks simply read HB they would probably have a better collection of prospects. |

Has anyone tracked that? Say if the Canucks had simply picked all of Bob’s picks over the years would they have done better?

Not aimed at you or anyone in particular but I found out a few years back no one in here knows their arse from their elbow when it comes to drafting. Everyone has fun when making predictions but that is where it ends.

I wonder how many players and management, owners read HB, probably get a good chuckle if they did lol. |

Rathbone, OJ, Woo and hopefully they take some in these later rounds. There always seems to be some good sleepers in the 5th and Canucks have a double in the 5th.

It's obviously more than that
Based on where he played though, it's not exactly a hockey hot bed.
Yegor Sharangovich, Maxim Sushko are the only two Belarus players in the NHL. One was drafted 5th round and is doing well and the later was drafted 4th round and hasn't really made it yet. 2 games o points.

Those last 2 defensemen were players I was hoping for if the Canucks managed an extra 2nd.

There is a lot of either people who love this trade and those who hate it. After watching some video of Garland and talking to a buddy of mine who is a pro scout for the Habs he said you know who is going to love this trade-Bo Horvat. Garland is a smart player who can make plays both with his hands and his feet look at the goals Scmaltz scored last year, they are because of Garland finding him, Horvat is a better finisher and he is going to love playing with him. As for OEL, the left side was looking thin before him and they paid Edler 6mill last year this is an upgrade on that for sure, I still think Schmidt won't be here to start the season but if he is, there is a chance that he will be allowed to play his game. The top 9 looks good and I can't remember who posted, but I would love to see Graovac back for 4C he has a big body and can kill penalties, would be cheap and in 7-9 mins would be what we need on the 4L.
A couple more D additions with the extra cap from Schmidt or Holtby and we could be looking at a playoff team next year, I am at wait and see as there is still some time until training camp. |
